Job description

Rodriguez CPA & Advisors is seeking a Tax Accountant/Associate with 3+ years of technical tax accounting experience for our Coral Gables office. Seeking self-motivated professionals with a genuine desire to embrace this challenging career opportunity to work in a team-oriented environment. This is a part-time/contractor position (20+hrs). Opportunity to work remotely.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accounting and Tax compliance preparation: Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.
  • Reconciliation of bank and company accounts.
  • Reviewing clients Financial statements.
  • Preparation of outsourced bookkeeping for clients.
  • Preparing sales tax returns for clients.
  • Preparing payrolls for clients.
  • Tax compliance review: Displays technical proficiency in tax preparation/review and assembly of related documentation.
  • Tax technical research: Assist other firm employees with tax research.
  • Direct interaction with partners.
  • Management of some client accounts.
  • Direct client contact: Demonstrates ability to develop good relationships with clients and aim to exceed their expectations.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with major in Accounting or Tax
  • CPA or EA preferred. If not currently licensed, working towards CPA or EA.
  • 3+ years prior work experience in public accounting with exposure to individual, corporation, and partnership taxation.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Proven track record of solving practical problems.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred.
