Tax Partner (Equity-Based | Remote)

About the Opportunity
A growing public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Partner to help build and lead its tax practice. This is a unique opportunity for a senior tax professional to take an entrepreneurial role in developing a client base and shaping the direction of the practice.

Role Overview

This position is ideal for a seasoned tax professional who is interested in a flexible, equity-driven opportunity. The role focuses on client advisory, tax strategy, and practice growth rather than a traditional salaried structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead tax planning, compliance, and advisory services

  • Develop and grow a client portfolio

  • Provide strategic tax guidance to individuals and businesses

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations

  • Build long-term client relationships

  • Identify and drive new business opportunities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to expand service offerings

  • Play a key role in shaping the firm's tax practice

Compensation Structure

  • Equity participation available

  • Commission / revenue share on generated business

  • No base salary initially

  • Significant upside based on performance and growth

Qualifications

  • CPA (or equivalent professional certification) required

  • Extensive experience in public accounting with a focus on tax

  • Strong expertise in tax planning and compliance for:

    • High-net-worth individuals

    • Corporations and partnerships

    • Non-profits and estates

  • Proven leadership experience in a senior-level tax role

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and grow client relationships

  • Strong business development / origination track record preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with modern accounting and tax software
