As an integral member of our team, you will work collaboratively to improve patient outcomes and support our mission of compassionate care.

About the Organization

Compassion Care Behavioral Health is a community-focused health clinic committed to offering specialized counseling and therapeutic services to seniors grappling with the complexities of aging. Our team is dedicated to providing individualized care that respects the unique experiences and backgrounds of each resident. We prioritize a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing the interconnectedness of emotional well-being and overall health in the geriatric population.

Work Environment

This position allows for a flexible remote work setting, enabling you to connect with patients from the comfort of your home or any other conducive environment. Despite the remote nature, you will have regular interactions with colleagues and support teams through video conferencing and virtual meetings, fostering a collaborative team spirit. We ensure that all team members have access to the resources and support they need to thrive in their roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly patients to identify their specific psychological and emotional needs, fostering a clear understanding of their current state.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions that target aging-related emotional challenges, including grief, loneliness, and anxiety stemming from life changes.
  • Work closely with healthcare teams, including doctors and social workers, to create and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to enhance the quality of life for geriatric residents.
  • Educate families and staff on effective strategies and techniques to promote emotional support and resilience, enhancing the overall care culture.
  • Lead grief and bereavement counseling sessions for residents and their families to help them navigate the complexities of loss and end-of-life transitions.
  • Design and implement cognitive stimulation activities and mental health interventions that encourage emotional and cognitive engagement among elderly individuals.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role is primarily on elderly individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, addiction, and the psychological aspects of chronic illness. You will engage with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, understanding their unique contexts to deliver sensitive and effective mental health support. Your expertise will contribute significantly to fostering an environment where seniors can express their emotions freely and seek help without stigma.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in Massachusetts.
  • At least four years of experience in geriatric counseling or direct mental health support for elderly populations.
  • Specialized training in geriatric mental health care and an understanding of aging-related psychological issues.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering effective counseling strategies tailored to seniors.
  • Strong assessment skills combined with the ability to establish rapport and trust with elderly clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with evidence-based approaches that promote mental well-being and cognitive engagement in older adults.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with ethical and legal standards governing mental health counseling, particularly in geriatric settings.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000 annually, along with potential for a sign-on bonus. In addition to financial remuneration, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providing confidential support and counseling services.
  • Wellness initiatives designed to promote mental and physical health among our team members.
  • Flexible work arrangements that support a healthy work-life balance.
  • Health and wellness incentives to reward healthy living and proactive health management.
  • Options for health savings and flexible spending accounts to ease healthcare expenses.
Career Growth Opportunities

As part of Compassion Care Behavioral Health, you will have the opportunity to further your professional development through ongoing training, supervision, and support for advanced certifications or specialization in geriatric mental health. We are committed to fostering an environment where you can expand your skills and take on new challenges.
