About the job Tagalog Interpreter (Sacramento Area)
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an independent contract self-employment position with a flexible work schedule.
The interpreter will be providing interpreting services primarily in the healthcare setting. Job site locations are mainly in Sacramento, Yolo, and Placer counties. The amount of assignments depends on the volume of requests for specific languages and the interpreter's qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluency in both Tagalog and English
  • Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication
  • Strong ability to interpret orally between Tagalog and English in both directions
  • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
  • Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
  • Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
  • Must have a reliable phone, a laptop or desktop computer, and a stable high-speed internet connection
  • Access to a quiet, private workspace to support remote assignments
