Build Responsible AI-From Policy to Production
At Minitab, we help organizations harness data to make better decisions. As AI adoption accelerates across our products and internal workflows, we are expanding our AI governance capability beyond policy and certification into technical oversight and enablement.
We are seeking aย technical AI Compliance & Systems Engineerย to operationalize AI governance within enterprise systems-includingย LLMs, custom applications, software development tools, third-party software, and emerging model ecosystems.
This role complements our legal and AI management system leadership by adding hands-on technical capability: evaluating, advising, integrating, and governing AI systems at the implementation layer.
What You'll Do
Operationalize AI Governance in Technical Systems
- Design and implementย technical controls and guardrailsย for enterprise AI usage, including LLM-based tools (e.g., models, custom applications, APIs, plugins).
- Build or supportย secure pipelines and integrationsย for AI tools, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Partner with engineering and IT to embed governance directly intoย AI workflows, APIs, and system architectures.
Evaluate AI Tools, Vendors, and Architectures
- Lead technical due diligence ofย third-party AI tools, LLM providers, plugins, and embedded AI featuresย in software products.
- Assessย data flows, model behavior, security posture, and risk exposureย of AI-enabled systems.
- Develop and maintainย evaluation frameworksย for approving or rejecting AI technologies.
Support AI Management System (AIMS) Execution
- Translate ISO/IEC 42001 controls intoย practical technical implementations.
- Work alongside the AI management system lead to ensureย controls are enforceable within systems, not just documented.
- Help integrate AI governance intoย existing security architecture (ISO 27001)ย and enterprise tooling.
Enable Safe Adoption of AI Across the Business
- Serve as aย technical advisorย to product, engineering, and business teams deploying AI capabilities.
- Defineย approved patterns, architectures, and usage modelsย for AI tools.
- Help teams move quickly while staying withinย risk tolerance and compliance boundaries.
AI Risk, Monitoring, and Lifecycle Oversight
- Implement mechanisms forย monitoring AI system usage, outputs, and risk signals.
- Supportย AI Impact Assessments (AIIAs)ย with technical validation of system design and behavior.
- Contribute toย incident response and investigationย related to AI systems.
Bridge Technical and Regulatory Domains
- Translate regulatory requirements (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO standards) intoย technical specifications and controls.
- Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensureย alignment between policy and implementation.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience inย AI/ML systems, security engineering, or technical risk/compliance roles.
- Hands-on experience with:
- LLMs and AI platformsย (e.g., OpenAI APIs, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
- API integrations and data pipelines
- Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong understanding of:
- AI/ML system architecture and lifecycle
- Data security, access controls, and secure design principles
- Ability toย evaluate technical implementations of AI, not just conceptual models.
Preferred
- Experience integrating or governingย ChatGPT Enterprise or similar platforms.
- Familiarity withย AI risk frameworksย (ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 23894).
- Background inย application security, DevSecOps, or ML engineering.
- Experience assessingย third-party software and vendor risk.
- Certifications in cloud, security, or AI (e.g., AWS, Azure AI, CISSP).
Why This Role Is Different
This is not a traditional compliance role.
You will:
- Work directly withย AI systems and tooling, not just policies
- Influenceย how AI is implemented across the company
- Act as aย technical gatekeeper and enablerย for AI adoption
- Bridge the gap betweenย legal requirements and real-world system behavior
