As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will play a vital role in assessing and planning treatment for clients facing various mental health challenges. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to formulate individualized treatment plans based on client needs.
• Providing ongoing therapy sessions via telehealth, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to each participant.
• Developing pre-crisis and crisis intervention plans, as well as behavioral guidelines to ensure client safety and support.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records and completing all required documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engaging in collaborative meetings with other professionals to coordinate care and develop positive behavior support plans.
• Participating in licensing and accreditation processes to uphold the highest standards of care.
• Serving as a liaison among clients, various service systems, state agencies, and community partners to facilitate access to resources.
• Promoting agency values and mission through outreach efforts and by establishing partnerships with external organizations.
• Staying active in the mental health community by attending conferences and participating in professional development activities.

The clients you will work with come from diverse backgrounds and face a range of challenges, including mental health issues, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. Your role will involve creating a strong therapeutic alliance with clients, helping them navigate their personal journeys towards recovery and improved well-being. We emphasize a holistic approach to treatment that prioritizes client empowerment and community connection.

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in a behavioral health field is required.
• Must hold a valid independent LMHC license issued by the state of New York.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain clinical records and produce comprehensive reports.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication abilities to express complex ideas clearly.
