Blackrock Strategy, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing optimization, production readiness analysis, and operational process improvement efforts across defense and government manufacturing programs.

This role focuses on evaluating manufacturing processes, production scalability, operational efficiency, and manufacturing readiness within complex defense production environments. The selected candidate will work closely with engineering teams, government stakeholders, program leadership, and manufacturing personnel to identify operational risks, improve production performance, and support mission-critical manufacturing initiatives.

The ideal candidate is analytical, operationally minded, and experienced in applying industrial engineering principles to real-world manufacturing, logistics, or production environments

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze manufacturing operations, production workflows, and operational processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and performance
  • Evaluate the manufacturing readiness, production maturity, and operational viability of defense-related production activities
  • Support process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and data-driven methodologies
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, government, and operational stakeholders to define production objectives, performance metrics, and operational requirements
  • Identify process bottlenecks, production risks, inefficiencies, and operational gaps impacting manufacturing performance
  • Develop and validate data collection methodologies, operational metrics, and process analysis techniques
  • Support Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA), Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and operational production evaluations
  • Contribute to technical documentation, manufacturing assessments, process improvement recommendations, and operational reporting
  • Draft and support Critical Operational Issue (COI) traceability efforts related to production readiness and manufacturability
  • Support system integration, testing, validation, and operational production activities
  • Assist cross-functional teams with troubleshooting, operational coordination, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of manufacturing and operational objectives


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical field (ABET preferred), or 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production, logistics, quality, or industrial operations.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations, production analysis, process improvement, or operational optimization initiatives
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, statistical analysis, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, military, or government manufacturing programs preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and operational assessment capabilities
  • Ability to interpret complex operational data and provide actionable recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing, and operational teams
  • Ability to operate independently within fast-paced, mission-driven environments
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI eligibility


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience supporting Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA) or Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of DoD manufacturing standards, production environments, and quality management systems
  • Experience supporting prototype production, operational manufacturing, or industrial modernization initiatives
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies or systems engineering lifecycle processes
  • Experience developing technical reports, operational briefings, and manufacturing assessments


WORK ENVIRONMENT
