Reimbursement Financial Senior Analyst

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

This position is hybrid or remote.

Position Summary:

Within a team framework, coordinates the reimbursement functions for the Covenant Health system entities.  Ensures compliance with regulatory reporting requirements of various government agencies.  Responsible for preparation, evaluation and review of financial filings.  Provides leadership to Covenant Health system in areas affected by reimbursement law and regulations.  Requires a high level of understanding of government regulations including rules, familiarity with law, ability to research laws, rules and regulations.  Increased levels of understanding government procedures and protocols, as well as ability to interact with governmental entities on a variety of issues. 


  • Responsible for high level, complex reporting including but not limited to Medicare cost reports.
  • Responsible for internal reporting and analysis including but not limited to 3rd party settlement calculations.
  • Participates on various system teams whose purpose results in Reimbursement filings.  Examples include but are not limited to corporate structure changes and implementation projects such as provider based status.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for Associate and Intermediate Accountants.
  • Coordinates data collection necessary for filings.  Sources include but are not limited to facility departments, Decision Support, and Patient Account Services.
  • Ensures consistent reporting where applicable.
  • Reviews work performed by Associate and Intermediate Accountants.
  • Responsible for electronic and other forms of document retention, including saving, storage, and archiving.
  • Coordinates activities related to filings including but not limited to audits, desk reviews, reopenings and appeals.
  •  Researches complex issues.
  • Analyzes changes in laws/regulations and communicates impact to appropriate persons in the Covenant Health system.
  • Develops and implements procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Serves as contact person for regulatory correspondence.
  • Serves as back up to director.

Minimum Education:          

Bachelor of Science Degree in Business (Accounting or Finance preferred).

 

Minimum Experience:         

Minimum of six (6) years of related experience.  Position requires extensive knowledge of financial accounting principals as they pertain to financial compliance.  Must demonstrate solid leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, in context of departmental team.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
