Summary
Lee Health is seeking a visionary Enterprise Network & Hybrid Cloud Architect to lead the design, optimization, and governance of our health system's core networking fabric and enterprise-wide cloud strategy. This senior technology leader will shape the future of connectivity across our multi-site clinical environment-bridging legacy physical infrastructure, advanced routing/switching, and secure cloud environments. The ideal candidate is a seasoned network engineer who has evolved into cloud space, passionate about designing scalable, high-performance, and resilient hybrid routing ecosystems that securely handle clinical data traffic, enterprise workloads, and modern AI pipelines. This role serves as a trusted advisor to IT leadership, cybersecurity, and network engineering teams, ensuring that campus networks, WAN edges, and cloud landing zones deliver maximum uptime, strict compliance, and line-rate performance.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the architecture, lifecycle design, and continuous optimization of our enterprise core routing and switching fabric across all hospitals, clinics, and data centers.
  • Design and implement secure, high-availability hybrid cloud edge connectivity utilizing Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect, and complex BGP/OSPF configurations for deterministic traffic routing.
  • Partner with the Information Security Officer to enforce Zero-Trust network segmentation across physical campus switches, data center fabrics, and virtual private clouds (VPCs), adhering to HIPAA, HITRUST, and NIST standards.
  • Develop engineering frameworks, strict access control lists (ACLs), and automated network guardrails that protect mission-critical clinical workloads and connected medical equipment.
  • Optimize end-to-end network throughput and minimize latency for large-scale data transport, supporting healthcare interoperability and data-heavy AI/LLM ingestion pipelines.
  • Manage the evolution of the WAN edge and local campus distribution layers, ensuring seamless interoperability between traditional hardware, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and multi-cloud platforms.
  • Provide expert technical leadership in network automation, utilizing scripting (Python, Shell) and orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform) to eliminate manual configuration drift.

  • Required: Track record of developing compatible system infrastructures that align with long-term organization strategies.
  • Preferred / Helpful Experience: CapEx strategic budgeting, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) implementation, Zero-Trust security frameworks, and acting as a Clinical Engineering (Biomed) liaison.

Other Requirements:
  • Requires superior communication and consultation skills to coordinate effectively with executive leadership and translate technical requirements into business value.
  • Must be able to coordinate and provide expert guidance in the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks.
  • Some after-hours work and periodic 24x7 on-call support will be required, including participating with Emergency/Hurricane Response teams as assigned.

Certifications
