• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use challenges, effectively identifying co-occurring disorders.
• Work in partnership with clients to create tailored treatment plans that address both their mental health and substance use needs, utilizing evidence-based approaches.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on equipping clients with coping strategies, emotional regulation methods, and relapse prevention techniques.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team—including psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists—to deliver integrated and holistic care.
• Implement regular monitoring of substance use, employing motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients toward sustainable recovery.
• Educate clients and families on the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, promoting awareness and treatment adherence.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, adhering to ethical and legal standards.
• Engage actively in case conferences, training sessions, and staff meetings to continually enhance your knowledge and skills regarding co-occurring disorders.

You will primarily work with clients grappling with co-occurring mental health conditions and substance use issues. This population often requires nuanced understanding and comprehensive care approaches. Your role will involve not just treating symptoms, but also addressing the complexities of each individual’s circumstances, making your therapeutic relationship vital to their success in recovery.

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies pertinent to co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
• Strong knowledge of the interplay between mental health and substance use, along with excellent interpersonal skills necessary for effective collaboration.

• At least two years of direct clinical experience working with individuals facing mental health and substance use disorders.
• Experience in a telehealth setting or familiarity with digital therapy platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of community resources that can complement client care.

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 75,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonuses. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
