Role description Arcadis is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support major data center projects. This position will be primarily REMOTE with minimal travel.

As a senior member of our Cost Management team, you will drive project delivery, collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to provide insightful cost analysis and guidance. Regular site presence is required to support project execution and maintain strong client relationships. We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in the technology sector or advanced manufacturing environments, who excels at analyzing complex data, facilitating transparent contractor engagement, and delivering successful project outcomes.

Role accountabilities: Cost Management Leadership Lead regular cost review meetings; set agendas, define objectives, and drive informed decisions. Facilitate value engineering, risk/contingency, and cost reconciliation sessions with clients, contractors, and design teams. Present estimate methodologies and assumptions; critically assess project scope, quantities, and pricing using data-driven insights.

Reconcile internal and contractor estimates, resolving differences to achieve agreed outcomes. Cost Governance & Assurance Oversee peer reviews and QA/QC processes, ensuring robust audit trails and compliance with client standards and procedures. Commercial & Procurement Support Support procurement strategy, including bid evaluations, subcontractor/supplier quote analysis, and contract negotiations.

Evaluate change orders, manage cost trends, and provide negotiation support. Produce clear, concise cost reports, variance analyses, and dashboards; communicate trends and forecasts effectively. Leadership & Collaboration Obtain and scrutinize detailed contractor pricing to ensure transparency and cost validation.

Analyze drawings, specifications, and technical documents to validate project scope. Conduct regular site visits for meetings and field verification. Collaborate with project management, design, and client teams on budgeting, value engineering, and change management.

Leverage experience in high-tech environments to identify and mitigate cost and constructability risks. Key Skills & Attributes Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach. Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and executive presentation skills.

Deep understanding of complex construction processes and end-to-end cost management. Expertise in design and tender preparation, with strong market knowledge for resources, materials, and equipment. Ability to challenge assumptions and drive contractor transparency.

Proven relationship builder with experience turning client relationships into new business opportunities. Collaborative team player with a strong commitment to project excellence. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 12 years of relevant cost management experience, ideally in data centers, technology, advanced/high-tech manufacturing, or life sciences. Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and deliver executive-level presentations. Proven experience obtaining and validating detailed cost breakdowns from contractors and subcontractors.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with proficiency in quantity take-offs, cost reconciliations, and pricing reviews. Proficient with industry-standard cost and project management tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
