Position Summary: The Principal Palantir Application Developer will define enterprise standards for Palantir application architecture, workshop design patterns, application lifecycle controls, release quality, reuse, supportability, and long-term maintainability. They will have 10+ years in application architecture, platform-based software delivery, analytics products, workflow applications, or related enterprise solution work. They will possess expert capability in application architecture, workshop standards, lifecycle controls, release quality, reuse, maintainability, and enterprise application design direction. The Principal Palantir Application Developer will work in a team environment collaborating with enterprise architects, platform leadership, governance leads, business sponsors, and technical leaders to define application direction, standards, and maintainable design patterns.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define enterprise standards for Palantir application design, Workshop architecture, interaction patterns, reuse, usability, and maintainability.
  • Set standards for how ontology-backed applications represent business concepts, use Actions/Functions responsibly, and remain aligned with long-term product and platform strategy.
  • Define standards for application supportability, configuration, lifecycle controls, release ownership, observability expectations, and maintainability across the Palantir application portfolio.
  • Shape enterprise application priorities by evaluating where Palantir applications create the most operational value and workflow impact.
  • Serve as the highest-level escalation point for Palantir application design, release, usability, lifecycle, and maintainability issues.
  • Mentor Sr. Palantir Application Developers, establish best practices, and evaluate emerging application patterns to continuously improve the Palantir application-development function.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex application architecture, workflow, release, and maintainability issues across the Palantir application portfolio.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
  • Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities, including requests for maintenance when needed for both personal space and multi-use department spaces.
  • Engages in Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.

Education/Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, Master's degree preferred, and typically 10+ years in application architecture, platform-based software delivery, analytics products, workflow applications, or related enterprise solution work.
  • Expert capability in Palantir application architecture, workshop standards, application lifecycle controls, release quality, reuse, maintainability, and enterprise application design direction.
  • Expert capability in application standards, reusable patterns, lifecycle controls, governance-aware application delivery, release-quality expectations, and enterprise value realization.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of MS Windows operating systems and networked communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Toolset (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Data visualization experience using tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
  • Demonstrates curiosity, collaborative relationship building, and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Coach and guide other team members to identify application challenges, communicate them to supervision, and implement scalable solutions and standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
