About the role:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer II, you will be a quality liaison for assigned suppliers, ensuring compliance with Westinghouse quality, technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements. You will support supplier performance throughout the procurement lifecycle, including qualification, surveillance, product acceptance, quality documentation, and corrective actions. This role ensures the delivery of compliant, high-quality products and services for nuclear new plants and operating fleet programs.

You will report to the Manager, Major Mechanical Supplier Quality. This a remote position based in the United States. We will require you to travel 30-40% both domestic and international.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be a quality liaison with suppliers and our teams to support supplier qualification, audits, surveillance, and QSL compliance.
  • Review quality requirements in procurement documents and assist with supplier inspections.
  • Ensure supplier quality programs meet nuclear, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Review quality plans, procedures, inspection/test plans, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support quality reviews of procurement and engineering changes.
  • Review Quality Assurance Data Packages (QADPs).
  • Evaluate product compliance and issue Quality Releases (QRs/CQRs).
  • Verify corrective actions, deviations, and conformance documentation.
  • Assist with supplier nonconformances and SCARs.
  • Guide root cause analysis, corrective actions, and effectiveness reviews.
  • Escalate critical quality issues and support risk mitigation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Project teams to resolve supplier issues and ensure compliant delivery.
  • Support supplier development and quality improvement plans.
  • Monitor supplier quality metrics and trends.
  • Provide reporting and status updates to Quality and Supply Chain leadership.
 Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or Nuclear Quality.
  • Exposure to conducting supplier audits, surveillance, and assessments with both domestic and international suppliers.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001-based quality systems
  • Preferred
    • Working knowledge of nuclear quality standards (NQA 1, 10 CFR 50 App B, 10 CFR 21, ASME Section III).
    • Experience supporting major mechanical equipment (e.g., heavy forgings, pressure vessels, cranes, modules, and rotating equipment).
    • Prior experience in nuclear new plant or large capital projects.
