Job Description

Coleto Brands, parent Company of Progress Lighting and Kichler, is seeking to fill a Category Advisor. The Category Advisor serves as Walmart’s category expert, partnering with the Walmart merchandising team to drive category growth. This role analyzes sales and market data, identifies category and market share trends, and provides strategic recommendations to increase sales and optimize category performance.

This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Bentonville, AR to support our customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an expert using data to assist Walmart in making research-based decisions.
  • Generate analytical reports to provide insights, identify opportunities, and deliver solutions that drive profitable category growth
  • Own the annual relay process including drawing and submitting MODs and creating assortment optimization recommendations
  • Leverage research and marketplace understanding from cross functional counterparts (e.g., Product Development, Channel Marketing, Sales Operations & Analytics, etc.) to deliver impactful recommendations to Walmart
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working with category management / category advisor
  • Ability to build strong working relationship with Walmart and within Coleto Brands
  • Strategic thinking, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects with aggressive deadlines
  • Strong technical and advanced analytical skills required
  • Advanced understanding and experience with space planning software (JDA/Blue Yonder)
  • Experience analyzing weekly POS information and the ability to capture insights and make data-driven recommendations (experience with Luminate or DSS preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Retail Link

Travel requirements: approximate 10% domestic travel
