Job description

We are seeking an experienced Linux Developer to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing embedded Linux systems with a focus on IoT solutions, Android integration, wired and wireless connectivity, and audio/video processing. This role requires a combination of low-level programming expertise and high-level application development skills, with a strong understanding of USB stack and network protocols.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design and implement Linux-based embedded software solutions for IoT devices and consumer electronics running Android
  • Implement and maintain USB and Ethernet networking stacks and protocols
  • Implement secure network communication protocols for IoT devices
  • Design and optimize wireless connectivity solutions including WiFi and Bluetooth
  • Debug complex system-level issues across hardware and software boundaries
  • Optimize code for performance, power consumption, and memory utilization
  • Maintain and enhance existing firmware codebases
  • Create technical documentation and specifications
  • Mentor junior engineers and review code contributions

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Android and Linux-based embedded systems development. Great general understanding of how Android and Linux are structured
  • Strong programming fundamentals. Proficiency with low and high level languages, C, C++

EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree in relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience with Android platform development and Android HAL
  • Knowledge of Android HIDL/AIDL interfaces, build system, etc
  • Experience with USB 2.x/3.x, as well as UVC/UAC
  • Experience with wireless protocol implementations (WiFi, Bluetooth, BLE)
  • Proficiency with debugging tools and logic analyzers
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, Rust programming
  • Ability to work with legacy code, learn how things work and organized
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Experience with IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, LwM2M)
  • Audio/Video codec implementation and optimization
  • Knowledge of network security protocols and best practices

Salary Range
