• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand students' personal histories, presenting challenges, and risk factors, using valid assessment tools.
• Develop and personalize comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with students, strategically addressing issues to enhance emotional well-being and successful integration into the school community.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-focused therapy, to effectively manage a variety of mental health concerns.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering personal growth, improving emotional regulation, and equipping students with effective coping strategies.
• Engage in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to create a holistic treatment plan and ensure continuity of care.
• Deliver immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health crises, employing de-escalation techniques and making prompt referrals for advanced care as necessary.
• Educate students and families about mental health issues, available treatment options, and community resources to encourage proactive involvement in care.
• Maintain detailed compliance documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and staff development activities, contributing insights that foster a culture of continuous improvement within our mental health services.
• Stay informed about evolving laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines related to mental health practices to maintain best practices in service delivery.

This role focuses on a diverse student body, encountering various mental health challenges ranging from anxiety and depression to trauma and behavioral issues. A commitment to understanding and responding to the distinct needs of each student is paramount.

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Must possess a current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Virginia.
• At least two years of post-licensure experience, preferably within mental health or educational settings.
• A comprehensive understanding of various mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities is essential.
• Experience providing both individual and group therapy with knowledge of diverse therapeutic approaches.
• Exceptional crisis intervention skills with the ability to manage high-stress situations effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport with students and families from various backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications is necessary.

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
