Family Wise Counseling, LLC is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team remotely. In this full-time role, you will provide specialized therapeutic support to individuals affected by trauma, helping them navigate their healing journey through evidence-based practices.

Work Environment

This position is designed for a telehealth setting, allowing you to deliver your expertise from the comfort of your own environment while maximizing the reach of our services. We offer a flexible work schedule primarily from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though some adaptability may be necessary to meet patients' needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate individual patientsโ€™ trauma history, needs, and treatment preferences.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, evidence-based interventions, and resilience-building techniques.
  • Utilize therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in your practice.
  • Provide both individual and group therapy sessions that encourage patients to process traumatic experiences, enhance coping skills, and foster healing.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for all patients.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support during patientsโ€™ moments of acute distress related to trauma.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings, actively contributing to our trauma-informed practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of individuals who have experienced a range of traumatic events. Many present with symptoms of PTSD, complex trauma histories, and related dissociative disorders. Your work will directly contribute to improving their mental health through deliberate and individualized therapeutic engagement.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
  • A minimum of 2 years post-licensure experience focused on trauma-informed care is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and the application of trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies with effective outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, characterized by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to maintain calm in high-pressure situations, responding effectively to patientsโ€™ immediate needs.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology for documentation and communication.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to trauma care.

  • Experience in delivering group therapy sessions focused on trauma recovery.
