About the Opportunity

ControlPoint Technologies is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to provide project support within our Substation Engineering team.
Candidates must have direct experience with substation projects for electric utilities. The projects will range from 4kV to 345kV and the candidate will be client facing and interface with the other disciplines. Must be an outgoing team player with the ability to provide client confidence.

Technical Responsibilities:
  • Substation General Arrangement
  • Control House Layout
  • Plans and Sections
  • Grounding
  • Lightning Protection
  • Conduit/trench Layout
  • Material List
  • Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lightning protection, voltage drop, AC/DC load studies, etc.)
  • Support/coordinate engineering and design related to Civil/Structural aspects of the designs
  • Coordination with Protection and Control
Engineering Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality control/assurance reviews
  • Project support from scoping to final design and project closeout
  • Construction Support
  • Strong client focus and customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor'sDegree in Electrical Engineering
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) is a plus with ambition to obtain Professional Engineering Licensure (PE)

  • Experience in utility substation engineering with focus on electrical or physical aspects of design
