What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Stock Broker position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Stock Broker, you need a solid understanding of financial markets, securities trading, and relevant regulations, often supported by a finance or business degree and required brokerage licenses like the Series 7 and Series 63. Familiarity with online trading platforms, financial analytics software, and secure communication tools is essential for daily operations. Excellent client communication, self-motivation, and decision-making under pressure are valuable soft skills in this remote environment. These competencies enable brokers to effectively serve clients, make informed trading decisions, and maintain regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, tech-driven workspace.

Do stockbrokers make good money?

Stockbrokers can earn high incomes, especially with experience, strong client bases, and performance-based commissions. Salaries often include a base pay plus bonuses, and successful brokers in competitive markets can make six-figure incomes or more. However, income varies widely depending on location, skill level, and the firm they work for.

Remote stock brokers often work for brokerage firms, financial institutions, or independently.

Can you work from home as a stockbroker?

How to make 2000 a week working from home?

A remote stock broker can potentially earn $2,000 or more weekly by actively trading or managing client portfolios, which requires strong market knowledge, certifications such as the Series 7, and access to trading platforms. Success depends on skill, experience, and market conditions, and consistent high earnings are not guaranteed. Building a client base and maintaining compliance with regulations are also essential for sustained income.

Are stockbrokers being replaced by AI?

Stockbrokers are increasingly using AI and automation tools to assist with research, trading, and client management, but the role still requires human judgment, relationship-building, and regulatory compliance. Job description

Convelo is a managing general agent and wholesale broker positioned perfectly to give agents and brokers easy access to the most competitive specialty insurance products in the healthcare, senior living, non-profits, human services, and other sectors. Convelo is a socially conscious organization boasting an amazing culture of relentless grit and continuous improvement. We go to work every day to positively affect people's lives and we strive to do the same for our employees.

The Senior Associate Broker is a core member of foundational team, responsible for executing marketing and placement tasks at volume across new business submissions and renewal assignments. Reporting directly to the President of Wholesale, this role drives quote throughput, maintains file quality, and supports bind activity in accordance with established routing rules and standards. The ideal candidate is organized, technically sharp, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume wholesale environment where speed and accuracy are equally valued โ€” and who is energized by the prospect of building something meaningful from the start.

Essential Responsibilities

Placement & Marketing Execution

  • Receive, triage, and process new business submissions and remarket assignments, ensuring each file meets market-ready standards before approaching carriers.
  • Prepare complete, accurate, and professional submissions; approach appropriate carriers for quotes in accordance with established routing rules and market preferences.
  • Solicit timely responses from underwriters, negotiate pricing and terms within defined guardrails, and communicate quote details clearly and promptly to the RSMs and retail clients.
  • Manage the placement process through to bind, including preparation of binders, checklists, and all required marketing file documentation.
  • Execute remarket & renewal assignments, maintaining continuity and file integrity throughout the process. File Quality & Compliance
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy across all file documentation, including quotes, binders, endorsements, and correspondence.
  • Identify and correct inconsistencies or errors in submissions and policy documents; promptly clarify discrepancies with the retail client or underwriter.
  • Follow internal Quality Management System (QMS) standards and ensure all transactions comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all account activity within the agency management system. Throughput & SLA Management
  • Manage an active WIP queue, prioritizing accounts to meet pod-level turnaround and cycle-time SLAs.
  • Provide regular status updates to the President of Wholesale on quote progress, pending items, and any accounts at risk of missing SLA targets.
  • Flag incomplete files and escalate when missing information is blocking market-ready status.

Carrier & Market Relationships

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with carrier underwriters and market desks relevant to the pod's book.
  • Stay current on carrier appetites, market conditions, and product changes to support efficient and accurate placement decisions.

Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Brokerage Ops / Service Specialists on document processing, policy issuance, and servicing transactions.
  • Provide guidance and support to Junior Brokers on intake, triage, and market-ready preparation as the pod scales.
  • Participate in pod-level workflow reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of placement processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 2โ€“5 years of experience in wholesale insurance brokerage, commercial lines placement, or E&S underwriting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume submission queue with accuracy and urgency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present quotes and coverage details clearly to retail clients and underwriters.
  • Proficiency in agency management systems (e.g., Vertafore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in E&S or surplus lines placement across casualty, property, or specialty lines.
  • Established working relationships with wholesale carrier underwriters.
  • Genuine curiosity about the role of artificial intelligence and emerging technology in insurance underwriting, placement, and workflow automation โ€” and a willingness to actively engage with new tools as Convelo continues to invest in its technology infrastructure.
  • A demonstrated habit of self-directed learning โ€” someone who seeks out process improvements, stays ahead of industry innovations, and can translate what they learn into practical guidance or informal training for peers and junior team members.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
