Description

The SIGINT Systems Architect is a member of a high performing team supporting the customer Chief Architect by providing expert advice and performing activities and tasks necessary to define and implement an innovative future SIGINT space architecture in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The SIGINT Systems Architect supports the development of overhead SIGINT architectures and integration of new capabilities, including requirements definition, analysis and systems engineering to meet compelling national security needs.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and architecture requirements, initial requirements flow-down, initial validation and verification approaches, trade studies, and analysis of enterprise-level and segment-specific portions of the end-to-end system
  • Perform early architecture level acquisition activities, including evaluating system level trades against enterprise level budgets, acquisition milestones, design reviews, technology assessment, and technology development
  • Assist with enterprise architecting, including the development of new concepts, analysis of trades, and engagement across the customer enterprise to manage dependencies and synchronize development activities
  • Lead and conduct cost-performance trade studies to identify and assess satellite constellation architectural options. Liaise with mission analysis and acquisition teams to ensure completeness 
  • Support annual budget formulation, including developing contingent responses to potential increases and decreases in funding
  • Assist coordination with stakeholders and oversight on performance capabilities and acquisition deliverables 
  • Develop and coordinate strategic, executive communications, and decision briefings in support of customer priorities, acquisitions, and missions
  • Support evaluation of developer proposals

  • Support customer design reviews, providing technical insight to evaluate developer design effectiveness and maturity

  • Support the customer Chief Engineer and Chief of Outreach as required

Qualifications

Required Education: 

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience

Required Qualifications, including education, skills, years of experience and clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) with at least 16 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of DOD/IC satellite systems and architectures

  • Understanding of overhead SIGINT collection missions

  • Experience in DOD/IC acquisition and program management processes

  • Experience formulating DOD/IC budget proposals and justifications

  • Ability to work collaboratively with personnel from multiple functions and at all levels of the customer organization to deliver results; strong networking, interpersonal, customer service skills, team building and problem-solving skills with an ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience developing executive level briefings, white papers, and correspondence

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to plan, track and maintain due dates for multiple taskers and products 

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated sustained superior performance

  • Available to travel domestically

Desired Attributes: 

  • Advanced degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) 
  • Prior SIGINT mission and/or acquisition experience

Clearance Requirements: 

  • TS/SCI with CI polygraph
