Senior Healthcare Data Engineer

Remote

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Healthcare Data Engineer to support the continued growth and evolution of a healthcare organization's enterprise data and analytics platform. This role will play a key part in expanding centralized reporting, data integration, automation, and interoperability capabilities across multiple clinical and business systems.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of healthcare data engineering, cloud data platform expertise, and hands-on experience supporting production environments. This position offers the opportunity to work across data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, analytics platforms, and healthcare integrations while helping shape future-state data architecture.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines and integrations across healthcare and business systems

  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using modern cloud-based data platforms and integration tools

  • Support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives by delivering high-quality, reliable data solutions

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production data environments, integrations, and platform components

  • Support cloud-based data infrastructure within Microsoft Azure environments

  • Maintain and enhance connectivity between internal and external systems, including APIs, file-based integrations, and healthcare data exchanges

  • Analyze existing integrations and data workflows to support new platform development and future interoperability initiatives

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, application teams, analysts, and technical teams to deliver data solutions that support operational and clinical objectives

  • Participate in platform operations, deployment support, environment management, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ensure data quality, security, reliability, and compliance within healthcare data environments

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration, or related data platform roles

  • Experience working with healthcare data and healthcare information systems

  • Experience supporting EMR/EHR platforms such as Epic, Raintree, WebPT, Cerner, Meditech, Athenahealth, or similar systems

  • Strong SQL development and data modeling experience

  • Experience with cloud data warehouse technologies, preferably Snowflake

  • Experience developing and supporting ETL/ELT processes using tools such as Matillion, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Informatica, or similar platforms

  • Hands-on experience within Microsoft Azure environments

  • Experience supporting production systems, monitoring integrations, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining platform stability

  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, APIs, and file-based integrations

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
