Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Technical Business Analyst is expected to review, analyze, and evaluate user needs to create system solutions that support overall business strategies. They will document system requirements, define scope and objectives, and create system specification that drive development and implementation. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work closely with project managers to gather requirements and to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications. 
  • Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder and scrum teams to translate business requirements into user stories.
  • Ability to create wireframes for relevant requests.
  • Ability to do high level SQL coding to analyze tables required for a given request.
  • Ability to draw flowcharts/workflow diagrams/data flow diagrams when needed.
  • Removing blockers for development by getting clarification on requirements from stakeholders.
  • Design new or modify existing systems to meet business requirements, often working with IT developers to ensure technical feasibility. 
  • Document processes, requirements, and system designs for future reference and communication. 
  • Play a role in testing new systems to ensure they meet business requirements and function as expected. 
  • Identify and resolve issues related to system performance and functionality. 
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates and managing expectations. 
  • Assist with the implementation of new systems or enhancements to existing ones, ensuring a smooth transition. 
  • Presenting data in a clear and compelling way is crucial to being a successful data analyst. 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent work experience required.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Must have least 4 years of experience as a business analyst required.
  • The use of Visio or equivalent tool to draw Flowcharts, System flow diagrams etc.is required.
  • Familiarity with SQL Code required.
  • Ability to create user stories required. 
  • Ability to shadow business users and artifact workflows.
  • Must possess excellent people and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
  • Gherkin Language
