POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Billing & Data Analyst to support the integrity of billing operations, financial reporting, business analytics, and data governance across Villa Sport locations. This role will be responsible for analyzing billing and membership data, identifying trends and variances, validating system reporting, supporting data migrations and system implementations, and providing actionable insights to Finance and Operations leadership. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations. 

This is a hybrid position located at our Cypress, TX athletic club Monday through Thursday with the opportunity to work remote Fridays, weekly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze billing, membership, collections, revenue, and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and process improvements. 
  • Develop and maintain recurring billing, revenue, collections, and membership analytics reports for management review. 
  • Perform detailed reconciliation of billing activity, collections, ACH transactions, and membership data across multiple systems. 
  • Investigate data anomalies and variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. 
  • Monitor data quality and integrity across billing and financial systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reporting. 
  • Support system implementations, data conversions, testing, and validation activities to ensure accurate migration of member and financial data. 
  • Create and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics for Billing. 
  • Prepare business analysis and management presentations summarizing trends, risks, and recommendations. 
  • Perform ad hoc financial, operational, and membership analyses to support strategic initiatives and business decisions. 
  • Review and validate system-generated reports and communicate findings, discrepancies, and recommendations to management. 
  • Assist with month-end close processes, account reconciliations, audit requests, and compliance reporting. 
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve efficiency through data analytics and process redesign. 
  • Document business processes, reporting methodologies, and data governance standards. 
  • Mentor and assist in training team members on reporting tools, analytics, and best practices. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related fields. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, billing analytics, business analytics, accounting, or reporting. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP, Index Match, and complex formulas. 
  • Experience working with large datasets and multiple source systems. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and root causes. 
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations. 
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience with SQL, Co-Pilot or other business intelligence tools preferred. 
  • Experience supporting accounting system implementations and data migrations preferred.
  • Experience with membership billing systems, fitness clubs, hospitality, or subscription-based businesses preferred.
  • Experience with Power Query, Power Automate, or other reporting automation tools preferred.
  • Understanding of revenue recognition, collections, membership analytics, and financial controls preferred.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 lbs
  • Frequent sitting and occasional standing, walking, reaching
  • Noise level may be moderate to high at times
