Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to provide support while working from the comfort of your own home. You will engage with patients and families via virtual sessions, utilizing technology to offer therapeutic interventions. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify patients’ emotional and social needs related to their terminal illnesses.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions using evidence-based methodologies to address coping mechanisms and resource navigation.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Assist patients and family members with grief and loss counseling, addressing anticipatory grief and bereavement.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, including physicians and psychologists, to coordinate and enhance the care plan.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support during acute emotional distress, ensuring patient safety and emotional stability.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients in hospice care who are facing serious, often terminal diagnoses including cancer, heart disease, and neurological disorders. The care you provide will target emotional, psychological, and social challenges, ensuring that both patients and their families experience support that enhances their quality of life and dignity during end-of-life care.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Nevada.
