Job description

Lavendo partners with startups and high‑growth companies to help them hire top‑tier sales, GTM, and technical talent. This role is with one of our clients; we’ll share full details about the company and interview process as we get to know you and confirm mutual fit.

About the Company

Our client is an AI-native Financial Planning & Analysis platform that helps finance teams become more strategic partners to the business.

The platform brings critical operational and financial data into one place, enabling finance leaders to automate reporting, forecast revenue, plan headcount, manage OPEX budgets, and model scenarios with greater speed and confidence. Built around an intuitive multi-dimensional modeling engine and collaborative workflows, it helps mid-market finance teams move beyond manual number crunching and toward faster, better-informed decisions.

Our client is a global, venture-backed company with teams across North America and Europe. They have earned the trust of fast-growing and established businesses and are continuing to scale their go-to-market organization following a significant Series B round, serving companies like Dish Networks, Strava, BetterUp, and JG Wentworth.

The Mission

Our client’s mission is to give finance teams the insight, flexibility, and collaborative tools to drive business performance. As a Business Development Representative, you will help bring that mission to the Office of the CFO by starting thoughtful, relevant conversations with finance leaders at mid-market companies.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a growing sales organization at an important stage of scale.

You will be part of a cohort of BDR hires and work closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and Sales Leadership to create a qualified pipeline. You will develop the core skills of a high-performing outbound seller: account research, multi-channel prospecting, cold calling, executive communication, objection handling, and disciplined pipeline management.

What You’ll Do
  • Execute high-volume outbound prospecting via cold calls, email, and social touches to generate pipeline for AEs

  • Research and identify potential customers within the Office of the CFO

  • Follow up on leads from marketing campaigns and events (split between outbound and inbound BDR motions)

  • Understanding prospect needs and articulating value proposition to finance teams

  • Maintaining accurate prospect and activity data in Salesforce

What You Bring
  • Minimum 1 year of outbound BDR/SDR experience with proven cold-calling comfort

  • Experience at a B2B SaaS startup or fast-paced, high-growth environment (Seed – Series C preferred)

  • Scrappy, coachable, and motivated — comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a venture-backed startup

  • Based in Toronto and able to work hybrid (3 days in-office), or willing to relocate

  • Bonus: experience selling to finance leaders or the Office of the CFO

Key Success Drivers
  • You’re motivated by the craft of outbound selling — not just by a short-term path to an AE title.

  • You dream big, embrace discomfort, assume risks, make on-time mistakes, and learn how to methodically accomplish goals.

  • You’re self-reflective, praise diversity of thought, and have fun every day.

  • You embrace honest feedback and radical candor as ways to genuinely help each other.

Why Join?
  • Compensation: CA$65,000–CA$95,000 OTE, plus competitive equity.

  • Benefits: Medical insurance, competitive vacation policy, an L&D budget, wellbeing-platform access, and English/Spanish language courses.

  • High-growth stage: Join a well-funded company scaling its go-to-market organization after a major $60M Series B raise.

  • Truly inclusive international environment: Global team of 100+ people across 30+ nationalities with offices in New York, Toronto, and Barcelona

Interviewing Process
  1. Intro Call with Recruiter

  2. Hiring Manager Interview

  3. Case Study Interview and Role Play

  4. Executive Interview

  5. Offer Extended to successful candidates

We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, disability, genetic information, veteran or military status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Compensation Range: CA$65K - CA$95K
