A Remote Sourcing job involves identifying and reaching out to potential candidates for job openings, typically in recruitment or talent acquisition. It is performed remotely, using online tools, databases, and networking platforms to find qualified professionals. Remote sourcers collaborate with recruiters and hiring managers to build talent pipelines and ensure a steady flow of strong candidates. This role requires strong research, communication, and organizational skills to effectively engage potential hires.

What are some common challenges faced by remote sourcing professionals and how can they be overcome?

Remote Sourcing professionals often encounter challenges such as building rapport with candidates virtually, managing communication across time zones, and ensuring alignment with hiring managers. To overcome these hurdles, it's important to leverage digital communication tools, maintain clear and frequent updates, and establish structured workflows. Successful sourcers develop strong online engagement techniques and actively seek feedback to continuously improve their processes. Being proactive and adaptable are key to thriving in a remote sourcing environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote sourcing, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Sourcing professional, you need expertise in talent sourcing, Boolean search techniques, and a strong understanding of candidate assessment, typically supported by experience in recruiting or human resources. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, and sometimes certification in talent acquisition (e.g., AIRS or SHRM) are beneficial. Strong communication, time management, and relationship-building skills help set top performers apart. These competencies are vital for effectively identifying high-quality candidates, managing remote workflows, and collaborating with hiring teams across locations.

Job description

About Jerritt Canyon
The Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972, and the first gold production from the property occurred in 1981. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining-friendly state of Nevada. First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. In May 2023, operations were suspended to prioritize exploration and technical studies. Jerritt Canyon is now entering a new phase of evaluation and planning, requiring substantial technical support to advance the work necessary for a potential future restart of operations.
The Opportunity
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be hired under the Company umbrella as a fixed-term employee for an assignment anticipated to last approximately six months to one year, depending on business needs, recruitment volume, and the pace of operational ramp-up. This role will support Jerritt Canyon during a critical ramp-up period, with a focus on headhunting, passive candidate sourcing, and recruitment for hard-to-fill technical, specialized, and leadership roles. The successful candidate will be a highly responsive, self-directed recruiting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can quickly build targeted talent pipelines, advise hiring managers, and deliver a strong candidate experience in competitive mining and technical labor markets.
Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for technical, professional, operational, and leadership roles, including intake, sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding coordination.
  • Partner with hiring managers on recruiting strategy, market conditions, candidate availability, compensation positioning, interview plans, and timelines.
  • Develop and execute targeted headhunting strategies, including passive outreach, competitor mapping, industry networking, referrals, and talent pipeline development.
  • Take ownership of critical hard-to-fill requisitions with urgency, persistence, and accountability.
  • Build relationships with passive candidates, mining professionals, workforce partners, schools, and industry organizations to support current and future hiring needs.
  • Provide clear candidate assessments, hiring recommendations, and timely communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Represent First Majestic and Jerritt Canyon professionally by promoting the opportunity, culture, compensation, benefits, and growth potential.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting activity, candidate data, requisition status, updates, metrics, and reports in the ATS.
  • Exercise sound judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, and alignment with Company values in all interactions.
  • Perform work safely and complete other related duties as assigned.

The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Education and Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably supporting mining, industrial, technical, construction, manufacturing, energy, or other hard-to-fill roles.
  • Demonstrated success headhunting, sourcing passive candidates, and filling hard-to-fill technical, specialized, or leadership roles.
  • Ability to work with significant autonomy, manage multiple priorities, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Creative, resourceful, and willing to think outside the box to identify talent, solve problems, and move searches forward.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to advise hiring managers and build credibility across all levels.
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Microsoft Office applications, job boards, LinkedIn, and modern sourcing tools.
  • Remote work arrangement must be based in Nevada, with the ability to travel occasionally to the Jerritt Canyon mine site for key meetings and recruitment-related activities, and to attend career fairs or other recruiting events as needed.
  • High attention to detail, follow-through, sound judgment, confidentiality, and professional discretion.
  • Mining industry recruiting experience is strongly preferred.

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
The Company is an equal employment opportunity employer committed to providing employment opportunities to employees and applicants in accordance with all applicable laws.
