QA Specialist - Remote

What are we looking for?

The QA Specialist is responsible for assuring the quality of our food safety, workplace safety and human resources courseware. This role helps to drive continuous improvement in our processes, documentation, and products and works collaboratively across the team. 

Shift/Schedule: Full time position typically 8AM - 5PM Monday 

The base wage or salary range for this position is $45,000 - $56,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:

  • ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

    Listed examples are illustrative and representative of the tasks required of this position and are not intended to be complete or exclusive. Duties may include the following:

    • Review all courseware prior to delivery for any production related errors.
    • Ensure grammar and spelling are correct.
    • Ensure that the images, text, videos and audio files are in the correct places.
    • Ensure translated materials are accurate between the text and audio.
    • Ensure courses look and sound consistent and professional.
    • Ensure each course registers an accurate training record in the Alchemy Platforms.
    • Write effective and concise bug tickets describing any issues discovered.
    • Manage ongoing deadlines and tasks efficiently.
    • Assist in creating and detailing new testing protocols as required.
    • Manage and maintain the Creative Team's SharePoint sites.
    • Research and develop informational PowerPoint presentations on competitors to share with internal stakeholders.
    • Able to fill in for the Quality Assurance Manager for PTO and absences if needed.
    • Site and translation glossary maintenance as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • ESSENTIAL RQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
    • Some college education or equivalent work experience
    • Native-level English proficiency
    • Detail-oriented
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Willingness to become proficient in proprietary software
    • Experience with desktop computer environments
    • Ability to communicate positively and professionally with all internal and external stakeholders
    • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
    • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
    • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management 
    • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
    • Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties
    • Must be customer focused and quality driven

    • Ability to travel as business needs dictate - less than 5%

  • PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital tools used for project management, scheduling, etc.

    • Experience with content QA and proofreading

    • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards

    • Fluency in languages other than English

    • Excellent written and verbal communication
