Job description

Business Continuity Analyst

The Business Resilience Coordinator supports deliverables that impact and shape the Sony Electronics’ Business Resiliency Program. The Business Resiliency Coordinator should be knowledgeable of Business Resiliency programs, Business Continuity frameworks, and Emergency Response Planning. They should be comfortable working in teams and as an independent contributor, with analytical and effective communication skills to support peers and clients in the execution of multiple concurrent projects across disparate geographic and organizational boundaries.

The position will be responsible for, but not limited to, coordinating with site leads and business units to develop, capture, and maintain planning strategies (e.g. Business Continuity & Emergency Action Plans) that support preparedness, response and recovery activities from disruptions to include training and supporting incident response activities focused on safeguarding people, assets, operations, and reputation. The position will also be responsible for administering the business resiliency platform and coordinating with cross functional partners to develop technological supported workflows that improve and drive process efficiency throughout the incident management cycle.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Work with department leaders to develop Business Impact Analysis, risk assessments, risk mitigation solutions, and Business Continuity Plans to ensure business units can continue critical business functions.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to identify gaps and address deficiencies in recovery strategies to enhance contingency plans.
  • Support Business Resiliency Program with preparedness activities
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of site Emergency Action Plans and exercises.
  • Support significant events in various sizes and scale of impact (hurricane, social unrest, pandemic) by supporting business units.
  • Develop working knowledge of program tools and associated skills to train business partners with appropriate skills to support role.
  • Reviews current processes, tools, systems, and databases and makes recommendations/ supports development of and drives process efficiencies.
  • Maintains system documentation and procedures as well as creating ad hoc reports to support internal and external customers.
  • Collaborates with the Corporate Security team to develop appropriate training materials to support the needs of the Business Resiliency Program.
  • Perform program and project activities as assigned by Manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Experience with Business Resiliency, Business Continuity Frameworks, and Emergency Planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Time management skills and self-motivation
  • Keen attention to detail resulting in high quality products
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Run system reports as necessary/requested
  • A perpetual learner, open to obtaining more education and certifications in the security/investigations field.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and communicate in a professional manner
  • Ability to safeguard and communicate sensitive information

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management or related field; or combined education and Military or Law Enforcement experience.
  • Strong desire to seek a career in Corporate Security and/ or Emergency Management
  • Desired: Industry Certifications in Business Continuity, Security or Crisis Management related field
