As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor at Mindzen Psychiatry, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Delivering culturally-sensitive psychotherapy to a wide range of clients, including adults, teens, and children, utilizing both individual and group therapy modalities.
• Managing a caseload of clients and ensuring that documentation is completed accurately and efficiently through our electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Creating collaborative treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), or trauma-informed approaches tailored to each client’s needs.
• Contributing to clinical discussions during team meetings and peer consultations to enhance therapeutic practices and client outcomes.
• Influencing the development of program content, care models, and organizational culture with your unique perspective and expertise.

Your clients will encompass a diverse demographic, necessitating an understanding of various cultural backgrounds and challenges. You will work with individuals experiencing mental health issues, families needing support for relational difficulties, and marginalized communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ clients. This broad focus allows you to engage your specialized training and clinical skills to effect positive change.

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

• Possess a current and active LPCC license issued by the state of California.
• Hold a Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field from an accredited program.
• Have at least two years of clinical experience, with a preference for one year of post-licensure experience, though strong pre-licensed candidates with focused expertise will also be considered.
• Demonstrate knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostics, ethical standards, and best practices in clinical documentation.
• Exhibit the ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.

While the above qualifications are required, we also value additional experiences that will enrich our team, such as:

• Experience working with specialized populations and marginalized communities.
• Specialized training or certifications in modalities such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, substance abuse counseling, or crisis intervention.
