Overview
Are you a seasoned leader passionate about building a sustainable future? We're looking for a Construction Project Manager or Project Executive (Senior Project Manager) to lead utility-scale solar projects across the U.S. In this role, you'll not only manage complex construction efforts but also mentor and empower project teams, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and innovation.
As a key leader in our growing renewables division, you'll partner with energy clients nationwide to deliver high-impact storage solutions that support grid resilience and decarbonization. Your ability to lead multiple concurrent projects, develop talent, and drive results will be instrumental in shaping the future of clean energy infrastructure.
Location & Travel: This is a remote position and may be based anywhere within the United States. The role supports projects nationwide and requires regular travel to project sites, with an expected baseline of approximately 50% travel. Additional onsite presence will be required during project start-up, critical execution phases, and when project performance metrics, operational objectives, or business needs are not being achieved. Employees in this role are expected to maintain the flexibility necessary to provide increased field support as required to ensure successful project outcomes. This position is eligible for a vehicle allowance and a company credit card to cover approved business-related travel expenses.

Responsibilities
  • Assure project abides by all environmental safety awareness and compliance

  • Document and communicate project progress, performance, and issues to all stakeholders
  • Provide day to day direction and oversight of project resources (staff, equipment, subcontractors) and materials
  • Successfully integrate resources, activities, and deliverables as outlined in the Project Execution Plan
  • Own the project budget, cost, forecast, and schedule
  • Provide successful management of all contract documents, risks and changes throughout the project
  • Project Integration Management: manage the processes and activities needed to identify, define, combine, unify, and coordinate the various processes and project management activities within the project

  • Project Stakeholder Management: identify all people or organizations impacted by the project, analyzing stakeholder expectations and impact on the project, and developing appropriate management strategies for effectively engaging stakeholders in project decisions and execution
  • Invest time and effort in enhancing apprentices' skills and knowledge - champion the process
  • Provide positive environment to support coaching and mentoring of apprentices
  • Commit to accurate classification to ensure PWA (Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship) compliance when applicable
  • Commit to involving PWA (Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship) team prior to subcontract negotiations
  • Ensure documents in regards to discipline for apprentices gets completely filled out and submitted to HR and PWA team for DOL purposes
  • Issue PWA non-compliance notices following alerts from PWA (Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship) team
  • Full responsibility of PWA compliance execution through partnering with PWA (Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship) team
  • Ensure the CMIII keeps the Apprentice/Journeyman pairings updated and sent to Apprenticeship team weekly
  • Submit PWA deliverables to the Owner
  • Disperse and delegate all PWA questions to the appropriate subject matter experts while ensuring all questions get answered timely

Additional responsibilities for Project Executive (Senior PM)
  • Oversee multiple projects and maintain prime contract with Owner
  • Foster and maintain Client Relations to get repeat business
  • Partner with Procurement on subcontractor and supplier awards
    • Coordinate team for takeoff and bid assembly assignments
    • Identify key trades for concentration and notify selected subcontractors of bid dates
    • Ensure quotes are obtained for all trades
    • Review all bids for their entirety and compliance with contract
    • Award contracts to subcontractors and establish Job Timing for contract
  • Finalize the design with the Owner of each project
  • Partner with Field Operations on staffing needs and scope specific processes
  • Quote and manage all change order and Owner's request for extras
  • Identify, research, and resolve all contract disputes with the Owner
  • Review the submittal and approval process of the monthly application with the Owner
  • Collaborate with Sr Safety Manager on any jobsite safety issues
  • Manage and resolve or assist site leadership (or construction managers) in resolving all conflicts such as failure of subcontractors to perform, failure of materials to arrive, contract disputes and trade conflicts
  • Review with all the various local agencies to determine final acceptance, which will include release of all bond monies and final Certificate of Occupancy
  • Review the project and determine acceptability of completed work on an on-going basis
  • Visit jobsites on ongoing basis, inspecting the work and establishing final punch list
  • Maintain site coverage between active sites as required
  • Review labor and equipment analysis of the crew and equipment planners
  • Oversee project management teams, including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Construction Managers
  • Set and ensure execution of project goals and expectations
  • Ensure Project Managers successfully execute the duties in their job descriptions

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five years of construction Industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management
  • Experience in project management on utility scale renewables projects such as Solar, BESS or wind preferred, experience in project management on EPC or other large scale construction projects such as experience working for a heavy general contractor will be considered
  • Additional experience leading multiple large projects, ideally in utility scale solar or renewables project environments, for Project Executive level position
  • Willingness and ability to work to travel a minimum 50% of the time and be at job sites as needed to ensure key projects metrics are achieved

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward company's Zero Injury principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Primavera, Timberline, and Construction Software
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations
  • Write reports, business correspondence and document project activities
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the general public
  • Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations
