As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day will encompass a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing patient well-being:

• Conduct thorough assessments to understand clients' mental health statuses, including psychological evaluations and risk assessments.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans that align with clients’ therapeutic goals.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to specific client needs.
• Equip clients with practical tools and coping strategies to address their mental health challenges.
• Coordinate care by referring clients to additional healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists or nutritionists, when necessary.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in our EHR system.

You will primarily work with a varied clientele, including individuals facing challenges such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and substance use issues. Your expertise in assessing and treating a wide spectrum of mental health disorders will be essential in delivering tailored therapeutic approaches across cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, ensuring comprehensive care that empowers clients in their healing journeys.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New York State.
• A minimum of two years of related mental health counseling experience with a strong understanding of various mental health disorders.
• Proficiency in cultural competence, demonstrating an ability to provide inclusive therapy.
• Solid crisis intervention skills with the ability to manage high-pressure situations calmly.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, fostering strong therapeutic alliances with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with EHR systems and other relevant software for efficient practice management.

While the above qualifications are mandatory, we prefer candidates with:

• Substantial experience conducting both individual and group therapy sessions.
• A background in crisis management or emergency mental health services.
• Previous work in a telehealth setting, demonstrating familiarity with digital communication platforms and remote client engagement strategies.
