This role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while engaging with clients through digital communication platforms. Telehealth services are an innovative approach to delivering care, enabling counselors to engage with clients in their own environments. You will utilize a range of digital tools and software to conduct assessments, counseling sessions, and follow-ups, ensuring that every patient feels supported and connected.

• Collaborate with law enforcement to conduct timely psychiatric evaluations in the field, determining the need for involuntary detention under sections 5150/5585.
• Provide immediate, short-term crisis counseling to non-violent individuals experiencing mental health crises, ensuring their safety and stabilizing their situations.
• Accompany police officers on specific calls related to mental health, bringing your expertise to support informed responses and interventions.
• Facilitate training sessions for law enforcement personnel, equipping them with strategies to recognize and de-escalate mental health episodes effectively, which can lead to reduced use of force.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and referral processes, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.
• Engage in proactive communication with key stakeholders, including law enforcement, Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU), hospitals, and psychiatrists to ensure cohesive care for clients.

You will be working primarily with individuals in crisis, including arrestees who may be experiencing mental health-related issues. Your role is pivotal in helping them navigate through immediate crises and connecting them to appropriate long-term resources, including mental health facilities and homeless shelters. Your empathetic and professional approach will significantly impact client recovery journeys.

• A valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and exceptional integrity in all aspects of work.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Professional demeanor with a positive attitude, capable of maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.
• Proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

• Prior clinical experience, particularly in psychiatric settings, is highly preferred.
• Experience working in crisis intervention or collaboration with law enforcement agencies.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and digital communication tools for effective remote counseling.

This role offers a competitive salary range of USD $52,000 to $70,000 annually, reflecting the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
