Empathy Medical Healthcare, LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) to join our remote telehealth team. This full-time position plays a vital role in delivering mental health counseling support to individuals in crisis, including both community members and those associated with law enforcement. Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with law enforcement to conduct timely psychiatric evaluations in the field, determining the need for involuntary detention under sections 5150/5585.
  • Provide immediate, short-term crisis counseling to non-violent individuals experiencing mental health crises, ensuring their safety and stabilizing their situations.
  • Accompany police officers on specific calls related to mental health, bringing your expertise to support informed responses and interventions.
  • Facilitate training sessions for law enforcement personnel, equipping them with strategies to recognize and de-escalate mental health episodes effectively, which can lead to reduced use of force.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and referral processes, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Engage in proactive communication with key stakeholders, including law enforcement, Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU), hospitals, and psychiatrists to ensure cohesive care for clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with individuals in crisis, including arrestees who may be experiencing mental health-related issues. Your role is pivotal in helping them navigate through immediate crises and connecting them to appropriate long-term resources, including mental health facilities and homeless shelters. Your empathetic and professional approach will significantly impact client recovery journeys.

Qualifications
  • A valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and exceptional integrity in all aspects of work.
