Job description

At Clerri, we're a team of builders, believers, and bold thinkers driven by one mission: to remove the barriers between patients and providers through memberships that improve access to care and help practices thrive. Simply put, we bring care closer. Backed by a smart platform and a thoughtful team, we deliver the most trusted solution in the market.

Do you…

  • Live and breathe crafting polished, performant software products customers rely on every day?
  • Want to coach and share your insights with a team of top-notch developers?
  • Desire to work with a team of builders, believers, and bold thinkers driven by one mission: to remove the barriers between patients and providers through memberships that improve access to care and help practices thrive?

Clerri is seeking a talented full-stack Senior Software Engineer to join its platform team and drive its award winning software products forward. As a software engineer, you will help lead the charge in developing elegant solutions to complicated problems. You'll design and implement responsive, accessible web applications on top of our Laravel and PHP platform, working the full depth of it: Eloquent models and MySQL schemas, Redis-backed queues, the APIs that tie it together, and the payment and identity integrations our practices depend on. As part of our development team, you will help optimize our coding conventions and processes for better performance, security, and maintainability.

If you are passionate about delighting and dazzling customers, love building architecturally-sound software products that scale, and have a proven track record of releasing innovative products that defy the status quo, then come and be a part of our incredible story.

This role is open to fully remote candidates, with priority given to applicants based in or near Utah, or within the Mountain time zone.

The Day-to-Day
  • Build full-stack features end-to-end in Laravel/PHP, from Eloquent models, MySQL schemas, and Redis-backed Horizon queues through to the responsive, accessible interfaces on top, including the Stripe, SendGrid, and SAML2 SSO
  • Partner with Product and QA to turn requirements into robust technical solutions, breaking down and estimating work while holding the line on security, testing, accessibility, and maintainability
  • Raise the bar with agentic AI tools like Cursor and Claude Code, applying sound agent harness design, skills, and subagents to ship higher-quality software faster
Key Skills

Do these things sound like you? Yes? Great, you're already on the path to success at Clerri.

  • Deep proficiency in modern PHP and Laravel, including Eloquent, relational data modeling in MySQL, and queue-driven background work on Redis and Horizon, ideally in containerized environments like Docker and FrankenPHP
  • Fluency with software design patterns and object-oriented design principles applied to code running at scale in production, plus a track record of integrating and debugging third-party APIs and webhooks where payments, email deliverability, or SSO are involved
  • Working command of security best practices, including client-side security and the careful handling of payment and patient data, plus WCAG accessibility requirements and automated testing with PHPUnit or Pest
  • You are legally authorized to work permanently in the US without employer sponsorship

Typical Experience & Education

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering at a fast-growing SaaS company; healthcare experience is a plus
  • Experience building software with a distributed, remote team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent years of experience

Our Advantage

Our team is constantly growing, learning, and adapting. You will be joining a team that is crazy smart. We ask hard questions and challenge each other to improve continuously. We are self-driven but team oriented. Clerri lives its values, and we manage our work and relationships accordingly. Our values are:

  • Be Scrappy & Find a Way
  • Apply First Principles Thinking
  • No Politics, The Idea Wins
  • Speed over perfection—we launch and learn
  • Lift where you stand
