Description & Requirements
Maximus is currently seeking a Senior Engineer - Software QA. Senior Engineers - Software QAare resources within IT Applications Testing Shared Services. They are responsible for systems testing of start-up implementations and O&M software development projects. The Senior Engineer's - Software QA role includes analyzing and reviewing systems requirements, collaborating with development and DevOps engineering teams to understand project objectives, and gathering automation requirements to design reusable and maintainable automation tests.
The individual will actively contribute to the continuous improvement process by enhancing or expanding the existing automation framework to drive our vision forward. This position also involves developing a test strategy to maximize the use of automation in testing web-based applications built on microservices architecture and webservices. Additionally, the Senior Engineer - Software QA will mentor testing team members, lead efforts in performing proof-of-concept research for new tools, make recommendations on such tools, and implement them upon management approval.
This is a remote position. Per contractual obligations, candidates must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis and review of system requirements, estimations, peer reviews, test data determination and preparation, designing test strategy and test cases, executing test cases, and monitoring and control of overall test activities.
- Lead efforts in performing POC/research for new tools, making recommendations of such tools, and implementing upon management approval.
- Perform test preparation and test execution.
- Identify and determine data for testing.
- Identify, report, and manage defects in defect tracking system.
- Participate in level of effort estimates.
- Maintain project's test documentation.
- Participate in reviews as per project's scope.
- Troubleshoot user reported production defects.
- Provide testing status reports per project requirements and provide input to the project plans and processes.
- Identify and communicate risks to the project team.
- Participate in collection and review of quantitative data related to software testing and development activities for measurement and analysis.
- May provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area.
Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain Page Object Model and Data Driven framework for Test Automation.
- Develop test automation code in Selenium/Python or Selenium/Java programming to test UI, DB applications, and Mobile API.
- Collaborate with Development, DevOps, and AWS teams to build and execute tests through CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Identify and prepare test data for testing purposes.
- Participate in test management activities for testing web based and/or mobile applications including test data preparation, execution, and defect reporting.
- Manage defect lifecycle process from reporting bugs to closure.
- Review automation framework, peer review of automation code, test scripts and test suites to ensure adherence to coding and security standards.
- Mentor other team members during the sprint work and provide project-specific trainings to new team members.
- Provide regular updates to the Test/Project Manager.
- Attend project-related meeting as needed.
- Provide testing estimations for manual and automation testing. Involve in Manual testing based on project needs.
- Maintain project's manual test and automation documentation.
- Provide UAT support for their test data needs.
- Perform other testing-related duties as per project needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 5+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, computer science, statistics, or a related field. Additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Automation testing for medium to large complex web-based project, preferably in healthcare industry.
- Proven ability to code in Python and or Java using OOPs concepts to build reusable and maintainable automation scripts.
- Proficient in test automation and execution in an Agile environment
- Proficient in testing webservices and web applications using REST APIs, with tools such as Postman.
- Must have experience with Selenium WebDriver with Selenium Grid 4 preferred.
- Experience in writing custom code/solutions to facilitate automation.
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL for creating/modifying queries for backend and ETL testing.
- Experience with building queries for DB validations, Rest components/APIs for testing webservices and web applications, and Unix shell scripting.
- Working experience with AWS fundamentals and core concepts for test development and execution.
- Experience with Scripting languages such as JavaScript, HTML, creating and validating XML.
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing Test Plans and Test Cases.
- Experience with testing tools for Test and Defect management.
- Strong in technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and running automation scripts through CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or tools in AWS ecosystem.
- Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Personal/Soft Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present analysis of results in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to do presentations and walkthroughs with Systems and Business personnel.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under deadlines in a changing environment.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Automation experience in an AGILE environment.
- Healthcare Industry experience is preferred.
