Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Senior Professional Surveyor - Project Manager (PS/PLS) to join our growing team in either our Bridgeport, West Virginia office. 

This is an opportunity for an experienced survey professional to lead project delivery, mentor staff, and play a key role in the continued growth of our surveying practice. You'll work across a diverse range of projects while contributing to both technical execution and client development, with the opportunity to expand your impact over time. 

You'll partner with internal leadership to support the development of the team while building relationships with clients and contributing to the growth of survey services in the region. 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, utility, route, and construction survey projects
  • Develop proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for survey projects
  • Oversee field and office staff to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely deliverables
  • Perform QA/QC on survey data, calculations, and final deliverables
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and government agencies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Mentor junior staff and support professional development, including goal setting and training
  • Partner with senior leadership to support team development and growth of the survey practice
  • Build and maintain client relationships, with the opportunity to contribute to business development efforts over time

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of land surveying experience
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PS/PLS) license (WV or ability to obtain via reciprocity)
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey data processing software (e.g., Trimble Business Center)
  • Deep understanding of GPS/GNSS, control networks, and modern survey methods
  • Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and client expectations
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting sectors such as real estate, energy, and public/private infrastructure
  • Experience with UAV, LiDAR, or remote sensing technologies is a plus
