Electrical Estimator – Data Center Fit-Out Projects
Location: Remote with travel

Your Impact
As an Electrical Estimator focused on data center fit-outs, you’ll deliver accurate, competitive, and clearly documented cost estimates that drive successful project outcomes. Your expertise ensures that our mission-critical interior buildouts are priced correctly, aligned with redundancy requirements, and executed with speed and precision.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Review drawings, one-lines, risers, specifications, and scope narratives for data center fit-out and white space projects
• Perform detailed digital takeoffs using McCormick and/or Accubid
• Develop labor, material, and equipment pricing for:
• RPPs, PDUs, and remote distribution
• Overhead busway systems
• Rack whips, cabling, and in-row distribution
• Grounding and bonding systems
• Lighting and controls for white space and support areas
• Branch circuitry, panelboards, and raceway systems (tray, conduit, underfloor)
• Interpret and apply redundancy architectures (N, N+1, 2N) to interior fit-out scope
• Identify constructability constraints related to live environments, phased turnovers, and concurrent trades
• Solicit, analyze, and level vendor/manufacturer quotes
• Prepare detailed proposals, clarifications, inclusions, exclusions, and alternates
• Support design-assist and preconstruction efforts
• Participate in handoff meetings with project management and field teams
• Assist in change order pricing, GMP development, and budget updates
• Maintain and update historical cost data specific to white space and data hall buildouts
Qualifications
• 3+ years of electrical estimating experience, ideally in data center fit-outs, mission-critical interiors, or high-density commercial environments
• Hands-on experience with McCormick and/or Accubid (required)
• Strong understanding of branch power distribution, rack-level power, and data hall layouts
• Ability to read and interpret one-lines, riser diagrams, floor plans, RCPs, control schematics, and construction documents
• Strong NEC knowledge, particularly grounding and bonding
• Proficiency with Excel and digital takeoff tools (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.)
• Ability to manage multiple bids under aggressive deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Journeyman or Master Electrician background
• Experience with RPPs, busway, whip systems, modular buildouts, and phased tenant fit-outs
• Experience working in live or active data center environments
• Understanding of commissioning and turnover sequencing
• Familiarity with OEM systems (Starline, Vertiv, Schneider, Eaton, etc.)
• Design-assist experience
• BS in Business, Construction Management, or related field — a plus
• Journeyman-level electrical license or equivalent — a plus
• Accubid or McCormick experience — required
