Job description

The Great State Team is seeking a Director of Information Technology to join our fast-growing team! As the Director of Information Technology you would provide operational leadership for the organization's Information Technology department. This role oversees the daily operations of the File Processing, Application Development, and IT Help Desk teams while serving as the primary technology liaison for internal departments, clients, and vendors.
Working closely with the Director of Infrastructure and Chief Security Officer, the Director of IT ensures technology initiatives, operational priorities, security requirements, and client needs are aligned with organizational objectives. This position is responsible for delivering reliable technology services, leading client implementations and audits, managing IT priorities, and driving continuous improvement across the department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the IT department.
  • Manage the File Processing, FACS Development, Artiva Development, and IT Help Desk teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technology-related requests from internal departments and clients.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Infrastructure and Chief Security Officer to coordinate infrastructure, security, and operational initiatives.
  • Prioritize IT projects, production support, development requests, and operational improvements.
  • Oversee client technology implementations, file integrations, and ongoing technical relationships.
  • Lead client technology meetings, security reviews, audits, HITRUST, SOC 2, and compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure IT service levels, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction meet organizational expectations.
  • Assist with technology budgeting, vendor management, staffing, and resource planning.
  • Promote automation, process improvement, and adoption of new technologies.
  • Develop departmental procedures, documentation, and operational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
  • 7+ years of Information Technology experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading IT teams.
  • Experience managing application development, IT operations, or technical support organizations.
  • Experience working directly with clients, vendors, and executive leadership.
  • Healthcare revenue cycle, collections, or financial services experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations, software development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
