Job description

Are you a subject matter expertise using Six Sigma methodology in project management, scope definition, risk identification, methodology and resource allocation or facilitation? Assist us with strategic initiatives crossing business teams and operating groups as a Project Six Sigma Consultant to coordinate and complete projects, define performance and results and manage vendors and service providers. You'll investigate non-standard requests and problems, make presentations to senior leadership, ensure project documentation is accurate and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. Pertinent data and facts will be reviewed to identify and solve issues and mitigate risks, prioritize your workload and work on ad hoc projects as assigned. Six Sigma Certification or in process of Certification for Project Management required and previous experience in a Project Management Office (PMO) is a plus.

This role is on the Optum Controllership Process Improvement team and will initially be working on Record to Report AI solutions. This is a very complex area with many process improvement opportunities.  The successful candidate will be able to quickly get up to speed, learn the area and offer insights and improvements.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement

  • Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues
  • Motivates and inspires other team members

Required Qualifications: 

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification OR Certified Public Accountant
  • 8 years of project management administration and/or project management experience and/or core accounting or finance experience
  • Advanced level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint skills

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely and to ability to facilitate meetings
  • Proven excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
