Job Description:

Position Summary: The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will lead product sustainment efforts by implementing design improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Provide technical support for existing products, maintain design and test documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, support continuous improvement initiatives, and assist with new product development as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead sustaining projects by identifying opportunities for design enhancements and implement changes to optimize product functionality and manufacturability.
  • Provide technical support for the current product line, addressing issues and implementing solutions to improve performance and reliability.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of design changes, test results, and product specifications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer support, to ensure seamless product sustainment.
  • Ensure all product modifications comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct testing and validation of design changes to ensure they meet performance and safety criteria.
  • Maintains an understanding of all current manufacturing processes.
  • Support new product developmentprojects,when needed.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities including but not limited to Kaizen and 5S events, Problem Solving Process, Value Stream Mapping, and Transaction Process Improvement.
  • Effectively collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures including safety and quality.
  • Travels up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Job Requirements:

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent and 4+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience or equivalent work experience OR HS Diploma/GED and 6+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with project management systems (i.e. Microsoft Project, Workfront)
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to Pomona, CA. This is not a hybrid or remote role.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and simulation extension tools required.
  • Experience managing projects of moderate complexity
  • Experience mentoring/coaching junior engineers
  • Proficient with electro-mechanical systemsdesign required.
  • Familiarity with injection molding, rapid prototyping, and CNC programming/machinery required.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
  • Aptitude to quickly learn business systems required.
  • Strong verbal and technical written communication skills in English required.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with other departments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data when presenting a business care required.
