About ClearGov

ClearGov is building the modern financial operating layer for the public sector.

We help US local governments and school districts plan, budget, report, and communicate their finances with clarity and confidence. From long-term planning to financial reporting, compliance, and transparency, our platform connects the work finance teams are already doing and makes it easier to deliver for their communities.
Today, more than 2,000 public sector organizations use ClearGov, and we continue to expand our platform and reach as we grow.

Our Core Values

    • We are authentic in our interactions, communicating with clarity, speaking with honesty, and following through with consistency. We turn transparency into our greatest competitive advantage.
  • Be Human
    • We are human partners to our colleagues and customers and lead with consideration and kindness - making space for others to do the same. We turn empathy into a shared strength.
  • Be Better Together
    • We are committed to building an inclusive community where everyone thrives. We share successes, support each other through challenges, and show up for our teammates the way we show up for our customers. We turn togetherness into our greatest advantage and collaboration into our greatest multiplier.
  • Be Honourable/Honorable
    • We are responsible to our colleagues and customers. We bring our full selves to every conversation, every project, every decision, and every relationship. We act with intention, deliver on our commitments, and lead with integrity - even when no one is watching. We turn honour into the foundation that powers everything we do.
  • Be Connected
    • We are culture builders where people are seen, welcomed, and celebrated. We show up in every interaction - the laughs, the wins, the hard days. We turn connection into opportunities for people to feel they belong.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You communicate clearly and effectively
  • You're comfortable solving problems and figuring things out

About the Future Opportunity

We're always looking for talented Account Executives (AE) to join our team, and we review applications for this role on an ongoing basis. If you have a passion for learning, a kind heart, a positive attitude, and a great sense of humor, we'd love to hear from you. The AE will manage the end-to-end sales cycle for municipalities, counties, school districts, and special districts—owning the evaluation process from initial engagement through final agreement. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted, consultative partner to local governments, helping them move from manual, legacy workflows to modern, cloud-based solutions for budgeting, financial disclosure and reporting, and community engagement.

You'll develop and execute a strategic territory plan, lead discovery sessions that uncover meaningful operational challenges, and deliver tailored software demonstrations that clearly show impact on both internal efficiency and community outcomes. Working closely with Business Development, Marketing, and internal cross-functional partners, you'll drive momentum through multi-stakeholder evaluations, guide committees through procurement requirements, and maintain a disciplined, accurate pipeline in Salesforce.

The AE will be a key player on an incredible team as we execute our mission to help local governments and school districts take the next step from good to great. You'll build trust-based relationships with Finance Directors, City Managers, and Department Heads, represent ClearGov at regional conferences and government associations, and act as an advocate for innovation in the public sector—while thriving in a fast-paced, remote environment that values collaboration, ownership, and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate ClearGov's offerings, ensuring the value is clearly articulated in alignment with client objectives.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly/quarterly sales quotas, pipeline growth, and activity metrics.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including marketing, product, and customer success to ensure the seamless delivery of solutions.
  • Develop accurate proposals and contracts that reflect both the client's needs and the capability of ClearGov.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to position ClearGov as a leader and trusted advisor.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all customer interactions, including use cases, deal stages, timelines and next steps using Gong and Salesforce.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition post-sale and high client satisfaction within your accounts.
  • Collaborate with customer success teams to ensure seamless implementation and high client satisfaction, fostering long-term partnerships and reducing churn.
  • Represent ClearGov at industry conferences and networking events, serving as a subject matter expert and advocate for local government innovation to expand market presence and deepen industry knowledge.
  • Contribute to the refinement of sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in client acquisition.
  • Manage your pipeline and performance with a data-driven approach, leveraging key metrics to guide decision-making and optimize results.
