Job Location: Hershey, PA 
Summary: 

Reporting to the Sr Director, Project Management, Process and Commercial Engineering, and accountable for execution of the company's annual capital plan, the Senior Manager of Project Management is responsible for developing strategic capital priorities and projects within scope as well as planning, organizing, and directing the completion of projects while ensuring they are on time, within scope, and within budget. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, exceptional project management expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, coach, and motivate a team of project managers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and implement project management strategies, processes, and best practices to improve project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, senior management, and cross-functional teams to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets, and ensure adherence to project schedules.
  • Monitor and track project progress, identifying and resolving issues to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies and plans to minimize project risks and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders and senior management through regular project status reports and meetings.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project management team, encouraging innovative approaches and best practices.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate project management tools and software to enhance team productivity and project tracking capabilities.
  • Oversee project change management process throughout the project life cycle to identify, manage, and control changes.
  • Guide project managers in selecting a project execution strategy to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Build, develop, coach, and manage team of project managers.

This role will interact and partner with:

  • corporate engineering team
  • manufacturing leadership teams
  • EHS & QRC teams
  • Procurement Team
  • external engineering and construction management firms
  • contractors of all disciplines

(This position will require up to 25% travel)
Required Skills: 

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software/tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in Food & Beverage or CPG is a plus.

Education & Experience: 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or related field.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
