Job Description

Role Overview

The Sr. Project Manager supports product development initiatives across the project lifecycle-from early concept and design through development, manufacturing readiness, and launch. Working under the direction of a Program Manager or Senior Program Manager, this role assists with planning, coordination, and execution of cross-functional activities to ensure projects progress according to scope, schedule, budget, and design control requirements. Success is measured by reliable execution of assigned tasks, quality documentation, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the planning and execution of product development projects by coordinating tasks, schedules, and deliverables across cross-functional teams, under the guidance of program leadership.

  • Assists in maintaining project plans, timelines, work breakdown structures, and status reports. Tracks progress against milestones and escalates risks, issues, or dependencies as needed.

  • Supports requirements development and design control activities, ensuring documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable quality system and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinates meetings, prepares agendas and materials, documents decisions and action items, and follows up to ensure commitments are met.

  • Collaborates with functional partners (R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Marketing, etc.) to support development, verification, validation, and readiness activities.

  • Manages tracking of project budgets, purchase orders, and invoices, and provides input to forecasts with direction from program leadership.

  • Serves as a supporting contact for internal stakeholders and selected external partners or suppliers, with oversight from more senior team members.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree required with a focus in science, engineering, or business preferred.

  • 4 - 6 years of experience in project coordination or project management required, preferably within the MedTech and/or Pharma (device) industry or a regulated environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Competency with product development lifecycle concepts and design control principles.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with guidance.

  • Demonstrates strong organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.

  • Applies basic analytical thinking to identify issues, track risks, and support problem-solving.

  • Communicates clearly and professionally with cross-functional team members, escalating issues appropriately.

  • Demonstrates a collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from experienced program and functional leaders.

  • Comfortable working with standard project management tools and processes (e.g., schedules, action logs, risk registers).

  • Displays developing business and financial awareness, including basic budget tracking and cost understanding.

  • Able to translate technical information accurately when supported by subject matter experts.

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification

  • Exposure to medical device development or regulated product development preferred.
