Job description

Description:
Hybrid 4 in Pittsburgh, PA
Our client is building a secure, fault-tolerant Azure platform for high-volume data ingestion, ledger-based recordkeeping, and analytics for a small internal user base. The role focuses on backend engineering with Java, Spring Boot, AKS, and distributed systems that target strong consistency and zero data loss, with secondary contributions to an Angular front end. Engineers will design resilient, geo-distributed services, apply Azure-native services, and operate under accelerated timelines while leveraging AI-assisted development tools.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $70.00 to $80.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
  • Design and build Java and Spring Boot microservices for Azure Kubernetes Service.
  • Implement fault-tolerant, high-volume data processing pipelines with strong delivery guarantees.
  • Ensure persistent, reliable input delivery to prevent client resubmission of data.
  • Develop ledger-style recordkeeping services for confidential datasets.
  • Orchestrate API-based integrations between internal services and external partners.
  • Architect multi-region Azure deployments targeting 10-minute RPO and 1-hour RTO.
  • Implement caching and buffering strategies using Azure Blob Storage initially, with a roadmap to Kafka and Redis.
  • Contribute to an Angular front end for internal users, including analytics and reporting views.
  • Design for geo-distributed resiliency with appropriate queuing and persistence.
  • Apply Azure-native services for storage, caching, and messaging aligned to U.S. Government security standards.
  • Support production deployments and operational readiness.
  • Leverage AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to accelerate development and testing.

Experience Requirements:
  • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Proven delivery of cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with AKS and Kubernetes.
  • Background in distributed systems, resiliency patterns, and high-volume data processing.
  • Knowledge of persistent messaging, queuing, and caching patterns.
  • Familiarity with Angular for full-stack contributions.
  • Experience handling confidential or regulated data.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools in software development.
  • Kafka or Redis experience (preferred).
  • Oracle database experience with small footprints (preferred).
  • Multi-region Azure architecture experience (preferred).
  • Analytics and reporting systems exposure (preferred).
  • Prior work in government, regulated, or high-security environments (preferred).
  • Experience delivering under tight timelines with evolving requirements (preferred).
