Remote Semiconductor information

What is a remote semiconductor?

A Remote Semiconductor job involves working in the semiconductor industry while performing tasks remotely, rather than in a physical lab or manufacturing facility. These roles typically focus on design, simulation, testing, software development, or supply chain management using cloud-based tools and collaboration platforms. Engineers, designers, and analysts can contribute to chip development, verification, or optimization from anywhere with secure access to company resources. While hands-on fabrication remains facility-based, many aspects of semiconductor development and business operations can be efficiently handled remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote semiconductor position?

To excel in a remote semiconductor role, you should have a solid background in electrical engineering, semiconductor physics, and experience with integrated circuit (IC) design, often backed by a relevant degree. Expertise with industry-standard EDA tools like Cadence or Synopsys, along with knowledge of hardware description languages (HDLs) and possibly certifications such as IPC or Six Sigma, is highly valuable. Strong communication, self-motivation, and collaboration skills are essential, particularly when working from a distance. These qualifications are vital for maintaining productivity, ensuring seamless project execution, and contributing effectively to cross-functional engineering teams in a remote setting.

What are some typical challenges faced by remote semiconductor professionals, and how are they addressed?

Remote semiconductor professionals often encounter challenges related to collaborating across global teams, synchronizing project timelines, and accessing specialized design or lab equipment. To address these, companies provide secure VPN access, cloud-based EDA tools, and frequent virtual check-ins or meetings to ensure alignment. Successful remote employees proactively communicate progress and issues, leverage virtual collaboration platforms, and may travel occasionally for essential hands-on tasks. This remote model offers flexibility but requires strong time management and a willingness to adopt new digital workflows. With the right infrastructure and support, remote semiconductor engineers can contribute just as effectively as on-site colleagues.

Is it hard to get a job in remote semiconductors?

Securing a remote semiconductor job can be competitive due to specialized skills required, such as knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, circuit design, or related software tools. Candidates with relevant experience, technical certifications, and strong problem-solving skills tend to have better chances of obtaining such roles.

Job description

About Parloa

Parloa's mission is to make every customer conversation feel effortless for both customers and the companies serving them. As agentic AI accelerates, Parloans are shaping the foundation of a new era in customer experience - one where customer support is no longer transactions, but meaningful exchanges. It is not just a vision; Parloa has powered over ONE BILLION interactions between global enterprise brands and their customers, with companies like Booking.com, Allianz, SAP, BarmeniaGothaer and TUI already deploying Parloa at scale.

About the Role:

As a Senior Value Engineer - West Coast at Parloa, you own the financial and strategic narrative behind our most critical enterprise AI deals. You will architect and validate CFO-grade business cases, ensuring our customers clearly understand-and can defend-the economic impact of adopting Parloa.

This is a highly strategic, customer-facing role where you operate at the intersection of Sales, Solutions Engineering, and executive stakeholders. You translate complex AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes, enabling a shift from feature-led selling to value-led decision-making.

You will work on high-impact, $1M+ enterprise opportunities, partnering closely with Account Executives and Solution Engineers to shape deal strategy, influence executive stakeholders, and drive confident investment decisions.

This is your opportunity to define how value is quantified and communicated in enterprise AI, helping global organizations justify, adopt, and scale agentic AI with clarity and confidence.

Areas of Ownership:
  • Own value engineering across the full sales lifecycle, from early-stage value framing through late-stage deal support and post-live value validation
  • Build CFO-grade ROI models quantifying impact across cost reduction, productivity gains, revenue uplift, and customer experience improvements
  • Lead executive value discovery sessions and workshops, translating qualitative business priorities into quantified financial outcomes
  • Partner with Account Executives on strategic deals, shaping value narratives for prioritization, pricing, competitive positioning, and expansion
  • Enable value-led selling by developing standardized frameworks, benchmarks, and repeatable tooling (including Parloa Value Studio)
  • Translate complex financial analysis into clear, compelling executive narratives that resonate with CFOs, CIOs, and business leaders
  • Drive post-sale value realization by validating outcomes and supporting expansion through proven impact
  • Capture and operationalize field learnings into scalable GTM playbooks, value frameworks, and industry-specific benchmarks
Who You Are:
  • You bring 5+ years of experience in value consulting, value engineering, or commercial advisory roles within enterprise B2B SaaS or software environments
  • You have a proven track record of building and owning ROI models and business cases that influenced $1M+ enterprise deals involving finance and procurement stakeholders
  • You have strong financial modeling expertise (e.g., NPV, IRR, TCO, payback, multi-year scenarios) and can confidently defend assumptions in executive conversations
  • You thrive in complex, ambiguous environments with incomplete data, tight timelines, and multi-stakeholder decision processes
  • You have executive presence and can translate complex analysis into clear, persuasive business narratives
  • You are highly autonomous, with a strong ownership mindset, while collaborating effectively across Sales, Solutions Engineering, and GTM teams
  • You are hands-on and pragmatic, comfortable building models from first principles rather than relying on templated approaches
Nice to Have:
  • Industry experience in Travel, Insurance, Healthcare, Financial Services, or Retail, especially in large-scale customer operations environments
  • Exposure to contact center operations or CX technology ecosystems (e.g., CCaaS, CRM, workforce management, analytics platforms)
  • Background in enterprise SaaS, AI companies, or top-tier consulting firms supporting complex enterprise sales cycles

This role is based in San Francisco and follows a hybrid work model. We are also open to considering remote candidates who are located within the Pacific Time Zone to support collaboration with the team and business hours.

Why Parloa?

We're at the beginning of a new era in customer experience, one where AI doesn't just respond, but understands, reasons, and takes action. We're building agentic AI that enterprises trust with their most important customer moments: complex questions, high volumes, real stakes. When millions of people reach out to a brand, those interactions aren't just support tickets; they're defining experiences. We're here to raise the standard: making every conversation seamless, intelligent, and genuinely helpful. If you care about shaping how businesses and customers connect at scale-and want your work to matter in real, everyday moments-this is where you do it.

At Parloa, ownership isn't a buzzword; it means being accountable for outcomes, not just tasks. We operate in a category that's evolving fast, where the bar is high, and the problems are complex. We hire people who think in solutions, communicate with clarity, and follow through. People who are comfortable making decisions, taking responsibility, and raising the standard for themselves and those around them.

We've grown beyond the earliest startup phase, but we've kept the intensity: fast execution, direct feedback, and a strong expectation to contribute meaningfully from day one.

Backed by leading global investors like General Catalyst, EQT Ventures, and Altimeter Capital, we're scaling with a clear ambition: to become the global category leader in enterprise-grade conversational AI.

Compensation for this role is structured as On-Target Earnings (OTE), consisting of a base salary and performance-based variable component, in addition to an equity package.
