How much do remote semiconductor jobs pay per year?

As of Aug 20, 2026, the average yearly pay for remote semiconductor in Dallas, TX is $116,738.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $67,594.00 and $151,964.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is a remote semiconductor?

A Remote Semiconductor job involves working in the semiconductor industry while performing tasks remotely, rather than in a physical lab or manufacturing facility. These roles typically focus on design, simulation, testing, software development, or supply chain management using cloud-based tools and collaboration platforms. Engineers, designers, and analysts can contribute to chip development, verification, or optimization from anywhere with secure access to company resources. While hands-on fabrication remains facility-based, many aspects of semiconductor development and business operations can be efficiently handled remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote semiconductor position?

To excel in a remote semiconductor role, you should have a solid background in electrical engineering, semiconductor physics, and experience with integrated circuit (IC) design, often backed by a relevant degree. Expertise with industry-standard EDA tools like Cadence or Synopsys, along with knowledge of hardware description languages (HDLs) and possibly certifications such as IPC or Six Sigma, is highly valuable. Strong communication, self-motivation, and collaboration skills are essential, particularly when working from a distance. These qualifications are vital for maintaining productivity, ensuring seamless project execution, and contributing effectively to cross-functional engineering teams in a remote setting.

What are some typical challenges faced by remote semiconductor professionals, and how are they addressed?

Remote semiconductor professionals often encounter challenges related to collaborating across global teams, synchronizing project timelines, and accessing specialized design or lab equipment. To address these, companies provide secure VPN access, cloud-based EDA tools, and frequent virtual check-ins or meetings to ensure alignment. Successful remote employees proactively communicate progress and issues, leverage virtual collaboration platforms, and may travel occasionally for essential hands-on tasks. This remote model offers flexibility but requires strong time management and a willingness to adopt new digital workflows. With the right infrastructure and support, remote semiconductor engineers can contribute just as effectively as on-site colleagues.

Is it hard to get a job in remote semiconductors?

Securing a remote semiconductor job can be competitive due to specialized skills required, such as knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, circuit design, or related software tools. Candidates with relevant experience, technical certifications, and strong problem-solving skills tend to have better chances of obtaining such roles.

Job description

IC Enable is seeking an experienced AMS Verification Engineer to support advanced analog/mixed-signal IC development for semiconductor, medical, and defense applications.
You will develop verification plans, build and debug mixed-signal testbenches, run simulations, analyze results, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure designs meet functional and performance requirements.
Location: Richardson, TX (Hybrid Schedule, Remote considered based on experience and qualifications)
What Youโ€™ll Do
Application areas may include: ROICs, sensor interfaces, wireless transceivers, ultrasound, neurostimulation, energy harvesting, and other advanced mixed-signal systems.
  • Develop and execute AMS verification plans for block, subsystem, and full-chip designs
  • Build, configure, and debug mixed-signal simulation testbenches using Cadence tools
  • Run simulations, analyze results, and resolve design or modeling issues with cross-functional teams
  • Verify mixed-signal interfaces, sensor interfaces, data converters, power management, RF/high-speed blocks, and related AMS subsystems
  • Maintain test plans, results, coverage summaries, and verification documentation
  • Support design reviews, silicon readiness, bring-up planning, and product delivery
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in AMS verification, mixed-signal simulation, or IC development
  • Hands-on experience with verification planning, testbench development, simulation setup, debug, and results analysis
  • Experience with Cadence AMS verification tools and analog/mixed-signal IC verification flows
  • Strong debugging, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Eligibility to work on ITAR-controlled projects, which may require U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status
** Please note, we are not able to support visa sponsorship for this role.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with IP integration and mixed-signal subsystem verification
  • Programming or automation experience with Python, Perl, Tcl, or SKILL
  • Experience with sensor interfaces, data converters, power management, RF systems, ROICs, biomedical devices, or similar mixed-signal applications
  • Familiarity with semiconductor process technologies and manufacturing environments
