Role purposeLead integrated project-risk screening and translate environmental, social, climate, geophysical, safety, infrastructure, and resilience findings into defensible ratings, mitigations, TOR requirements, decision conditions, and monitoring plans.Representative problems this role must solve
  • A project is technically promising but climate, seismic, landslide, flood, water, biodiversity, community, resettlement, Indigenous Peoples, hazardous-material, tailings, process-safety, or infrastructure risks are incompletely understood.
  • Risk evidence is fragmented across specialists and does not support an integrated Low/Moderate/High determination or actionable TOR.
  • Optimistic sponsor claims obscure missing baseline studies, permit pathways, mitigation costs, schedule impacts, or residual risk.
Responsibilities
  • Design and execute proportionate risk screening, evidence grading, data-gap analysis, site/stakeholder inquiry, and integrated risk classification.
  • Assess environmental/social safeguards, climate hazards, geophysical/site conditions, process/hazardous-material risks, infrastructure dependencies, cumulative impacts, permitting, mitigation, and resilience.
  • Trace findings into project conditions, alternatives, TOR studies/tasks, design criteria, budget/schedule inputs, monitoring, and acceptance requirements.
  • Integrate with technical, financial, legal/regulatory, country, sponsor, and implementation modules.
  • Provide or coordinate independent review and document dissent or residual uncertainty.
Minimum evidence-based qualifications
  • Senior environmental/social, climate/resilience, geotechnical/geophysical, process-safety, infrastructure-risk, safeguards, or permitting experience with evidence of integrated decision responsibility.
  • Emerging-market infrastructure, energy, mining/minerals, processing, or industrial-project experience.
  • Experience developing or reviewing ESIA/PESIA scopes, risk screens, mitigation plans, lender requirements, or project conditions.
  • Ability to coordinate specialists without overstating disciplines outside personal expertise.
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, with written attestation required before proposal inclusion.
  • Demonstrated senior/expert judgment supported by specific project, analysis, decision-product, or implementation evidence—not keyword familiarity alone.
  • Ability to produce concise, defensible written analysis in English and work across technical, commercial, financial, safeguards, institutional, and implementation interfaces.
  • Ability to become available for potential Indo-Pacific travel within 20 calendar days after Axyde's written mobilization notice following contract award, subject to assignment needs and Government direction.
  • Willingness to disclose availability, employment/contract restrictions, confidentiality obligations, conflicts, noncompetes, country/customer limitations, and relevant intellectual-property constraints.
