We are seeking an experienced Physical Security Engineer to support the planning, design, and implementation of advanced security solutions for mission-critical facilities and data center environments across the United States.
This role will lead security system design efforts from concept development through construction documentation and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with physical security technologies, risk assessments, security system integration, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop physical security solutions for buildings, campuses, and critical infrastructure facilities
  • Lead security system designs including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and intercom systems
  • Develop schematics, drawings, specifications, schedules, and design documentation
  • Perform calculations related to video storage, bandwidth utilization, and power requirements
  • Conduct security vulnerability and risk assessments
  • Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Coordinate with architectural, civil, electrical, and technology teams throughout project delivery
  • Support project execution, scheduling, and client communications
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience designing and commissioning physical security systems
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Video Surveillance Systems (VSS)
    • Access Control Systems (ACS)
    • Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
    • Intercom and Communication Systems
  • Experience performing security risk and vulnerability assessments
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies and cybersecurity principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CPP, PSP, CCNA, or RCDD
  • Data Center design experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Design Management experience
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers
