Department OverviewThis position will be part of the Software Enterprise Presale and Business Intelligence team. The Presales Solutions Architect is the technical integration expert responsible for defining and designing customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions across Motorola's expansive public safety product portfolio that includes Next Generation 9-1-1 Call Processing and Call Routing, Computer Aided-Dispatch and Records Management, Digital Evidence Management, Intelligence-Led Public Safety, Real-Time Video and Data Analytics, Community Engagement Applications, and Land Mobile Radio.
The Presales Solutions Architect will collaborate with the Sales, Engineering, and Product Teams to support the development of customer proposals nationwide, primarily focused on owning the technical architecture and strategy, interface design, engineering diagrams, equipment lists, solution acceptance test plans, risk mitigation and engineering labor models.
Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical lead that supports the sales life-cycle from qualification through contract and participates in customer meetings, proposal development, negotiations and transition to the implementation team

  • Engage with the key stakeholders to understand the PremierOne CAD/RMS and CommandCentral product portfolio and upcoming feature enhancements

  • Work with customers and our sales teams to understand our customer's needs

  • Craft end-to-end solutions comprised of the product portfolio and 3rd party elements and own the technical and interface designs

  • Responsible for identifying, mitigating, and documenting technical solution risks, capturing technical solution costs, and creating solution documentation that meets customer, contract and deployment requirements

  • Develop a consistent approach to RFPs, proposals, and quoting, which includes creating desired, consistent, and accurate documentation and drawings

  • This is a customer facing position that relies on solid presentation skills, experience with a wide variety of audiences and a deep knowledge of various public safety agencies. Working with both customer and internal teams requires excellent interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, communication skills, and a collaborative attitude.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of experience in one of the following: Sales, Engineering, Solutions Architecture or Systems Integration

  • 4+ years of experience in one of the following: Sales, Engineering, Solutions Architecture or Systems Integration

  • Strong knowledge of cloud applications and architecture, including migrations from on-prem to SaaS (preferably in a highly regulated industry)

  • Strong general knowledge of IP networking architecture, protocols and security is highly desirable

  • Technical understanding of the solution infrastructure. Possesses working knowledge of common interfaces for any of the following: Computer Aided Dispatch, 911 Call Handling, Records Management Systems, Digital Evidence Management, Real Time Crime Center and Analytics

  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Target Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
