Experience Level: 10+ Years
Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Functional SAP MII/ME Consultant to drive the business process design, gap analysis, and global rollout of our digital manufacturing platform. Working with a premier Aerospace & Defense client, you will act as the vital bridge between manufacturing business stakeholders and the technical engineering teams. You will own the functional blueprint for upgrading our existing SAP MII template and implementing end-to-end SAP ME solutions (excluding SCADA layer details), ensuring strict alignment with complex A&D compliance regulations.
Core Responsibilities

  • SAP ME Functional Design: Configure and design SAP ME processes tailored to A&D operations, including complex routings, operation activities, shop floor orders, data collections, and non-conformance management.
  • As-Is / To-Be Analysis: Evaluate the existing global SAP MII implementation to identify optimization opportunities, manage change impact for upgrades, and seamlessly integrate new SAP ME functionality.
  • Enterprise Integration Alignment: Define the functional data flow and mapping between SAP ERP modules (PP, QM, MM, PM) and shop-floor solutions via SAP MII.
  • A&D Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all functional process designs adhere strictly to defense sector mandates, including ITAR tracking, EAR, AS9100 quality standards, and product serialization traceability.
  • Testing & Adoption: Own the creation of end-to-end testing scenarios (UAT/SIT), coordinate validation testing, and lead change management and training initiatives for plant personnel.

Qualifications
  • Functional Expertise: 10-15+ years of deep functional consulting experience within SAP ME (Manufacturing Execution) and SAP MII.
  • Domain Knowledge: Strong background in discrete manufacturing environments, specifically Aerospace & Defense or highly regulated industries.
  • ERP Integration: Expert understanding of SAP PP (Production Planning) and QM (Quality Management) master data and shop floor execution dependencies.
  • Process Mastery: Proven ability to translate physical shop floor actions (e.g., labor tracking, scrap recording, component consumption) into clean SAP functional steps without relying on SCADA layers.
  • Compliance Frameworks: Familiarity with federal data restrictions, defense infrastructure security, and tracking components under strict regulatory oversight.

Soft Skills & Certifications
  • Elite stakeholder management skills with a proven track record of aligning plant managers, quality engineers, and corporate IT leadership.
  • Exceptional documentation skills, specifically in writing clear, logic-driven Functional Design Documents (FDDs).
  • Due to ITAR compliance and defense contract rules, US Citizenship or GC only No specific security clearances required.
  • SAP Certifications preferred and prior Aerospace & Defense (A&D) nice to have
