What is a remote security camera watch?

A Remote Security Camera Watch job involves monitoring live security camera feeds from a remote location to detect and report suspicious activities, unauthorized access, or safety concerns. Individuals in this role typically work for security companies or businesses that use surveillance systems to protect their property. The job may include responding to alarms, notifying law enforcement, and maintaining records of incidents. It requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and familiarity with surveillance technology. Many remote security camera watchers work from home or centralized monitoring centers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote security camera watch professional?

To thrive as a Remote Security Camera Watch professional, you need strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and a basic understanding of security protocols, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with surveillance software, CCTV systems, and incident reporting tools is often required. Excellent observation skills, reliability, and clear communication are crucial soft skills for identifying and escalating security incidents. These skills and qualities ensure prompt detection of suspicious activities and effective coordination with on-site teams to maintain safety and security.

What are the main challenges faced by remote security camera watch professionals, and how can they be managed effectively?

Remote security camera watch professionals often face challenges such as maintaining constant vigilance during long shifts, quickly identifying suspicious activity across multiple camera feeds, and effectively communicating with onsite teams when incidents occur. To manage these challenges, it's important to develop strong attention to detail, use checklists or monitoring software to stay organized, and participate in regular training sessions for situational awareness. Additionally, having clear protocols in place for reporting and escalation fosters efficient teamwork and helps ensure timely responses to security events.

Job description

Sales Hunter Wanted: Grow VirtuGuardโ„ข Remote Guarding

Business Development Representative โ€“ VirtuGuard Remote Guarding Sales

BOS Security is hiring a driven business development professional to grow VirtuGuardโ„ข, our remote guarding and live video monitoring solution.

This is a strong opportunity for a true sales hunter who can open doors, build trust with decision-makers, and sell a modern security solution that helps clients improve coverage, reduce risk, and control costs.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Sell a fast-growing, technology-enabled security service.
Help businesses prevent incidents in real time through live monitoring, virtual security officers, audio intervention, and escalation protocols.
Join a company that has protected clients since 1993 and has the operations support to help you win.
Build pipeline, close new business, and help shape the growth of VirtuGuardโ„ข.

What You'll Do

You will own new business development from prospecting through close, with support from a company that understands security operations and client service.

  • Prospect through calls, email outreach, referrals, networking, and targeted industry research.
Qualify company-generated leads and move strong opportunities through the sales process.
Build relationships with business owners, executives, property managers, and operations leaders.
Identify security gaps and work with internal teams to prepare remote guarding proposals.
Use the CRM to manage pipeline, follow-up, expected close dates, and projected revenue.

You May Be a Fit If You

  • Have a proven record of opening new accounts and managing a sales pipeline.
Enjoy prospecting and creating opportunities instead of waiting for leads.
Can sell value, not just price.
Are comfortable discussing technology, security needs, and business outcomes.
Have experience in security, surveillance, camera installation, facilities services, property management services, or another B2B service industry.
Can work independently while staying accountable to sales activity, pipeline progress, and revenue goals.

Compensation and Growth

Compensation includes a competitive base salary, commission opportunity, and benefits. High performers will have room to grow as VirtuGuard expands and the opportunity to influence a growing service line.

Ready to Sell Something Different?

If you are a sales professional who likes to hunt, knows how to build trust, and wants to sell a technology-enabled security solution with real value, we want to talk with you.

*After you apply, you will be sent an email with a pre-interview questionnaire. You must complete this questionnaire to be considered for the role.* Safety Responsibilites: Ensuring annual safety training is complete.

BOS Security is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We welcome and value diverse perspectives across our team.
